- Friday, March 1, 2002-
Chris shocks Hayley and Mateo when he announces
his desires to nail David, and not Vanessa, as Proteus. Meanwhile, Anna and
David discover the Proteus files on his computer. At the same time, the Pine
Valley police arrive to arrest David, and Anna's outrage soars when she learns
that Chris ordered the arrest. Mateo decides to further investigate, and Mateo
heads to David's cell. Jake accompanies Greenlee to find Leo and to save him
from Vanessa, and Bianca fills Greenlee and Jake in on Anna and David's
discoveries as she tags along.
- Monday,
March 4, 2002- Mateo and Hayley believe David when he reveals that
Vanessa hides behind the mask of Proteus, and they rush off to tell Chris.
However, Chris surprises Hayley and Mateo when he reveals that Vanessa appears
to have died in a car accident. David also tells Anna the truth about his
mother, just as Anna receives word on her cell about Vanessa's accident.
Meanwhile, Erica asks for Anna's help to have Chris seen by a specialist flown
in by Erica herself.
- Tuesday,
March 5, 2002- Chris hits Anna with the news that Vanessa
survived the crash, and Anna leaps to David's defense when Chris remains
suspicious about David's participation in underground activities. Derek shares
the news of Vanessa's survival with stunned Leo and David, and David remains
worried about missing Maggie. David announces his intent to find out the truth
from Vanessa, but Vanessa shocks David when she seems to be confused about her
self being and surroundings.
- Wednesday, March 6, 2002-
Tad tells Liza he thinks David had something to
do with Dixie's decision to leave. Afterward, Tad calls David and demands that
David tell him why Dixie left. Meanwhile, Vanessa pretends to be possessed by a
movie star named Rosie. Leo thinks Vanessa's ravings are clues to Maggie's
whereabouts. When Vanessa sings a hymn, David believes he knows Maggie's
location, and he takes Leo with him.
- Thursday,
March 7, 2002- Hayley and Mateo fantasize about time they could
have spent with baby Lorenzo if not for Proteus, and both remain unaware that
Edmund intends to surprise them with a party. Delirious Maggie, suffering from
hypothermia in the church attic, hears Frankie's voice urging her to fight.
Maggie's weak calls bring David and Leo to her rescue, and Maggie manages to
communicate that Vanessa orchestrated the kidnapping. A bond forms with David
and Maggie at the hospital, and David promises to keep her safe.
- Friday,
March 8, 2002- Donald sabotages Edmund's party for Hayley and
Mateo and marks several people in attendance as victims. Vanessa fluffs Maggie's
pillow, but David arrives and grabs Vanessa by the throat. Anna manages to pull
him off of Vanessa, and Anna shares more bad news for David. Anna informs David
that Jake told the cops to look into David's computer files again. Jake arrives,
realizes Anna has known all along about David's files, and Jake threatens David
with Anna's testimony. However, Anna plans to avoid testifying by leading David
to a Justice of the Peace.
- Monday,
March 11, 2002- Anna and David tap real feelings as they
exchange vows of love at their civil wedding, and the newlyweds end up spending
the night together in a honeymoon suite when they find the roads back to Pine
Valley have closed.
- Tuesday,
March 12, 2002- Anna and David banter about their secret marital
status, and Anna warns David that though no one can force her to testify against
her husband, she can still choose to volunteer information. Vanessa
unsuccessfully attempts to gain Jackson's concern, and she begins to feel
spooked and grows horrified upon learning about Anna and David's news.
- Wednesday,
March 13, 2002- David and Anna provoke Vanessa with the news
that they have married, but Vanessa pulls it together and levels David with the
news that she financed his entire career. Anna comforts David, and the love
between them grows. Jake and Joe ask David to attend the emergency board
meeting, and Jake goads David by suggesting that the final nail is about to seal
David's coffin.
- Thursday,
March 14, 2002- Anna and David walk into the board meeting
together, and Jake hits David between the eyes with the news that Vanessa paid
for every single award that David ever won, raising serious legal questions
about fraud. Joe proposes that David permanently resign and absolve the hospital
from all future claims, but David declines the offer and goads Jake into
physically assaulting David. In response, unruffled David suggests that Joe
Martin sign his resignation papers, and David presents a stack of papers damning
Joe Martin.
- Friday, March 15, 2002-
David returns with Liza's negative results and
asks suspicious Liza to lunch. David informs Joe that he wants Joe's job and
that the board blames him for what Vanessa did, and Joe stuns the board with his
resignation. However, the board shocks David when it names Jake Martin as the
new Chief of Staff. Meanwhile, Chris surprises Anna with the news that she's
going to be offered the Chief of Police position.
- Monday, March 18, 2002-
Jake enrages David with his new position at the
hospital, and Anna cautions David to play it cool, suggesting that David could
win the final battle. David informs Jake that he accepts the Board's offer, and
the two men face off in their hatred of one another.
- Wednesday, March 20, 2002-
David catches Maggie sneaking out of the
hospital, and David encourages Maggie to stay and confront her Vanessa demons.
David confides to Maggie that Vanessa murdered his father and suggests that
Vanessa could never do more to hurt him.
- Thursday, March 21, 2002-
Edmund angers Brooke when he leaves Jamie with
unstable Vanessa. Tad confronts David about Dixie's secrets and location, and
Jake tells Tad about the David/Joe fiasco. David calls Dixie to say that he
covered for her, but Anna overhears David's conversation.
- Friday, March 22, 2002-
When David lies about his phone call, Anna calls
an investigative friend to find out about Dixie. Liza freaks at the hospital in
reaction to her repeated severe headaches, and David attempts to calm her, but
Liza vanishes before David can get her an appointment with a neurologist. Tad
still suspects that David knows Dixie's secret. At the same time, Jackson
informs Jake that they have an open and shut case against David. Anna overhears
the last remark and tries to learn more, but Jackson covers. However, Anna
receives a call from her operative and discovers that Dixie is pregnant. Still
reeling from this information, Anna receives a subpoena at the end of her
swearing in ceremony as Pine Valley Police Chief.
- Monday,
March 25, 2002- Jackson asks for Anna's help to bring David to
justice, and Anna rattles David when she threatens to testify against him in
court after David denies fathering Dixie's unborn child.
- Tuesday,
March 26, 2002- David asks for Anna's loyalty, but Anna presents
David with a warrant instead, and the ongoing power struggle between the two
escalates to a moment of heated passion. However, Anna remains intent upon
testifying against David in court.
- Wednesday, March 27, 2002-
Anna catches Leo when he returns to Jackson's
office to replace the remaining stolen papers. Anna's reprimand prompts Chris to
startle Erica with an apology.
- Thursday, March 28, 2002-
Leo admits to Anna that he stole Vanessa's file
to learn about his mother and to understand her actions, and Leo alerts Anna to
the truth about David's father. Jackson arrives upon the scene and presses Anna
to read Leo his rights, and Jackson discovers Maggie's missing deposition when
he revues Vanessa's file. David taunts Vanessa with a picture of her husband,
and Vanessa decides that the time has come for her to tell him the truth about
his father. Barry makes a disturbing call to Adam, and Adam ends up physically
assaulting David as a result.
- Friday, March 29, 2002-
Adam accuses David of using Liza's illness to
put money in his pocket, and Liza faints dead away in reaction to the men's
hostile confrontation. David pleads his case to Anna and begs for her support,
but Anna remains convinced that David's actions all point toward
self-preservation, and desperate David reminds Anna that she stands to gain
financially if she refrains from testifying. Leo slips into Maggie's room and asks her to
leave out the damning information about David's father when the authorities ask
Maggie for new testimony.
