by Soap Opera Digest January 18, 2000

"This week, Anders Hove checks out of General Hospital in an eerie case of deja vu. His dastardly character, Faison, perishes in a boat explosion (again) after nearly a year of causing trouble in Port Charles.

The actor, who hails from Denmark, admits that he has mixed feelings about his departure. 'I felt very stupid going up to Wendy [Riche, GH executive producer] and saying, "I've got to get off." But Wendy was very gracious about it. She really was.'

When Hove first accepted the invitation to reprise the role he originated in 1990, 'the plan was that if things worked out, [my wife] Ann, and the kids would come to the U.S. But my father died, and then Ann got a grant that she could only use in Denmark. On top of that, she was appointed to the National Endowment for the Arts, and I think she deserves to have those experiences. She's worked very hard for this.'

Since Hove's family couldn't come here, he's returning to them. After a reunion, Hove's off to Romania in February to film the fifth installment of the cult video series, Subspecies, in which the actor plays a vampire lord named Radu. 'Faison in makeup,' the actor cracks.

Despite his character's 'death', Hove would be open to returning to GH if the circumstances were right. 'It seems like it's never going to work out because the first time around, I would've loved to stay and I was written off,' he states ruefully. 'This time around, they would like me to stay and I can't. Perhaps the third time will be the charm.'

Faison vs. the Scorpios- Take Two?
Rumors abound that Faison will pop up on All My Children to jog the memory of Alex (Anna?) Devane. 'The only think I know is that Finola [Hughes, Alex] has been working on it,' Hove reveals. 'I know she's mentioned it to Angela [Shapiro, president of ABC Daytime], but what's going to come of it, I have no idea. I would love to work with Finola again.'

Hughes confirms that she has discussed the idea with Shapiro and Executive Producer Jean Dadario Burke. 'I just thought it would have been fun to have done that,' smiles Hughes. 'On his way back to [Europe], he could have stopped in New York.'

And what about those tabloid reports that Tristan Rogers (ex-Robert, GH) has been spotted at the General Hospital studios and might reprise the role of Mac's dashing brother? 'Not true,' refutes his manager, who was surprised by the claim. 'But we are open to a discussion with General Hospital.'"
