The Shriners Club "This month, Shriner will bid adieu to his roomie of the past nine months, Anders Hove (Faison, GH). What happens when you get a hothead and a criminal mastermind under the same roof?
Kin Shriner: 'Yeah, he has the red hats on order.' Hove: 'What are they, anyway?' Shriner: 'I don't know what the Shriners do. I picture that episode of The Honeymooners with all the lodge brothers.' Digest: 'You've been pals for years. What's the basis of your friendship?' Shriner: 'Misery loves company?' (Hove laughs.) 'We're in the same boat. He's trying to make sense of the Faison character, as I'm trying to make sense of the Scotty character. We're just trying to make sense of life in general.' Digest: 'Anders, are you as outspoken as Kin?' Hove: 'Yeah, I think I am. But it's not that I want to slap the hand that's feeding me. I feel very stupid about giving up a good job, but I am looking forward to returning to my family in Denmark.' Digest: 'Even though you didn't share scenes this time around, would you like to work together again?' Shriner: 'Yes. I can see it now. He's going to call me one day and say, "There's a part in this stage play I'm doing. Can you speak Danish?"' Hove: 'It would have to be a non-verbal part. Not the opportunity for what is called "scene-stealing".' Digest: 'Anders, what won't you miss when you go back?' Hove: 'Well, ever since I've been here, living with Kin, my hair has gone extremely gray.' Shriner: 'That's true. I don't know why that is.' Hove: 'In all seriousness, I wouldn't have been able to survive this long here without Kin. Not only is he special, but I would have gained 10 pounds had he been able to cook.' Digest: 'Kin, what will you miss about Anders?' Shriner: 'He's like this statue that's always there, like a lawn piece [laughs]. And when I come back to the house, the statue won't be there.' Hove: 'Thank you. You're very kind.'" |
