A New Year of Surprises
Robert Scorpio was shocked by the return of a lost love- his "late" wife, Holly! She hadn't died in a plane crash after all! After a near-fatal car accident, Holly was horrified to hear that Robert had remarried his first love, Anna. Choosing not to unsettle his life, Holly made the painful decision to stay away from Robert.

Faison left Port Charles with a violent flourish. He had kidnapped Anna, and shot his own mother, Nanny McTavish and planted a bomb in Jenny's bridal bouquet. But Paul, sensing danger, grabbed the bouquet out of Jenny's hand and tossed it outside where it exploded safely. For being a hero, Paul got to see his beloved Jenny marry Ned!

Robert left Port Charles to search for Faison and Anna. Then, the word came: Robert, Anna, and Faison had been blown to bits on a boat! Mac broke the news to Robin, who took the news bravely.

Jason Quartermaine started working on Dr. Tom Hardy's new volunteer "Teen Hot Line." Along with freshman Robin Scorpio and fellow junior Karen Wexler, Jason manned the telephone to help teens in trouble. Karen and Jason grew close, but before long Karen got involved with Jagger Cates, a drop-out with a decent streak.

Holly grew close to Mac Scorpio, and this made Dominique so mad she broke up with him. But Holly didn't love Mac, she was in love with Bill Eckert! After they helped Holly's look-alike half sister Paloma restore freedom to her small country, San Sebastian, they returned to Port Charles where they consummated their romance with a night of passion at the Port Charles Hotel.

Felicia Jones returned to Port Charles from Texas (with her daughter Maxie) and was mugged. When she came to, Felicia had amnesia. All she knew was that Maxie was her baby! Mac Scorpio hired the perky amnesiac as a bartender at The Outback. Soon, Felicia was being stalked by Dr. Ryan Chamberlain, a pediatrician, who had come to Port Charles from Texas where, under the name of Todd Wilson, he'd fallen in love with Felicia. Felicia knew he was a murderer, but as long as she had amnesia she was safe.

Ryan Chamberlain convinced Felicia to join him for a mountain cabin weekend. While there, Felicia's memory returned. She panicked. She'd seen Ryan and Todd kill a woman in Texas! Felicia picked up a knife. Mac arrived to see Felicia standing over Ryan's body. Felicia was charged with attempted murder!

Tiffany Hill's sister Cheryl died after a car accident. Tiffany and Sean brought their nephew Lucas back to Port Charles. In a video will, Cheryl requested that Bobbie and Tony raise Lucas as their own. Tiffany vowed to fight!

Scott stumbled upon news that incriminated Lucy in a Port Charles art heist! He told Bill and Holly who deduced that Lucy had supplied information about the local paintings to the wealthy Richard Halifax. When Halifax realized Bill and Holly were on to him, he arranged the return of all the art...except Bill Eckert's painting, "Summer in Provence", the only painting Lucy couldn't have known about. Halifax swore he knew nothing about Bill's painting. Bill didn't believe him.
