Bad to the Bone
A letter from Edward, addressed to Robert, is found
and Lila sends Jennings to fetch Robert. In the letter, Edward tells Robert that
he was approached by a cartel who wanted to dominate global finance and
politics. Edward, refusing to join, died in a plane crash before he could mail
the letter to Robert. Tracy wonders if her father wasn't murdered. Robert think
so and passes along the news to Sean and Anna. The trio realize the situation is
worse than they thought. Robert talks Mac into keeping an eye out for criminal
activity around his club. "Why
does the word 'snitch' come to mind?" Mac teases.
Taub forces Dom's housekeeper, Ms. Perry, who's
been with her since childhood, to visit Dom at the Outback. He also plants two
spies as waiters at the club. In Brussels, Taub meets up with Faison and Harlan.
Their plan for PC is going as planned. Faison gloats that he's removed Sean as
an obstacle through Tiffany's sickness. Harlan's pleased that not only will PC
become the Cartel's headquarters but they'll also run ELQ thanks to Paul's
maneuverings. The fifth Cartel member arrives- it's Larry Ashton.
With the official opening of the
Outback, Connor asks the Donelys to come to see him perform. Sean doesn't think
Tiff should go out but she insists, so the pair accompany Robert and Anna. Mac
and Dom play host. The opening doesn't go off smoothly. Ms. Perry visits Dom and
tells her that Taub wants her back. Cesar makes eyes at Anna, angering Robert
who insists they go outside to exchange words. Robert commands Anna to stay out
of it when she tries to intervene. She intervenes anyway, telling Robert's
there's an emergency. Dom's just found Ms. Perry murdered upstairs. Alone with
Cesar, Anna warns him that he can't win against Robert.
Injections and Pills
Leaving The Outback opening, the Donelys go back with the
Joneses to the Brownstone, where Tiffany suddenly collapses unconscious again. Though Tony's been
arguing with him not to, Sean gives her Paul's pill, and she soon wakes up, seemingly okay
again. Hornsby warns Sean that Tiff's condition isn't cured and that she'll relapse
every thirty days without the pills. He'll have to do Paul's bidding to get more
pills Sean tells his upset wife. Paul's enraged when Faison last pill to Susan
is a placebo. Faison orders him to marry Tracy or no more pills. Sean
softens a bit after Paul introduces him to his daughter Susan, who's also
suffering from the same illness as Tiff. He realizes both men are in the same
boat and is forced to do what the Cartel tells him. Paul refuses to help Sean
get the Cartel for fear they'll murder his daughter. He pleads with the Cartel
to let him go after an ailing Tiffany begs for another pill, but they refuse.
Taub's plant erases Tony's research after he figures
out what the antidote is, so Robert agrees to feed Sean certain details to get
more pills until Tony can retrace his research. Robert's suspicions are confirmed by the
coroner, who tells him Mrs. Perry died by being injected with curare. He turns his
attentions back to Taub, sure that Dom's hubby had something to do with the murder. Learning that Taub took over Paterson Industries after Dom's father was killed, Robert
tells Taub he needs his help to find a cure for Tiff's illness. Taub lies and agrees
to help. Leopold then pays off a judge to appoint him Dom's temporary guardian and tells
Mac he's taking her back to NY.
Robert tells Anna to dissolve her and
Sean's PI firm to set up a public relations firm, which will serve as a front along with
Mac's club. They're all gonna go after Taub. Anna and gang discover that Taub had
Dom admitted to Shadow Brook, a sanitarium, after her father's murder. Robert clears
Dom of murder charges, but she's forced to go back to Leopold. Leaving Felicia and
Connor to manage the club, Mac escorts a terrified Dom back to Taub in NY for Mrs. Perry's
funeral. Reading his lips unnoticed, she learns about recent
assassination. Before Mac's forced to leave, Dom tells him and he reports the news
back to Robert and Anna. The brothers then read about a foreign minister's assassination
and realize it's the one Taub was referring to.
Assassins
In NY, Anna argues with a storage clerk about her missing jade statue.
Afterwards, Cesar approaches her and reads her a poem that end with "Do you
hear the waters whispering?" He's just hypnotized her and
tells
her he won't
tolerate her indifference to him. When he asks her to say she loves him, she
tells him she can't. Before leaving, he makes her forget he was there.
Robert and Mac attend Dom's
guardianship hearing. While Robert and gang attempt to locate Dom's aunt, Irene Stanton, the smug Taub is
granted complete guardianship of Dom. Mac hits the roof, while Robert tries to calm
him down, afraid Mac will do something foolish. Since Taub's unaware that she has
her hearing back, Dom overhears Taub and Cesar plan an assassination in Amsterdam and
notifies Mac, who tries to escape with her. They're caught, Mac beaten up and
Taub informs Dom that he's taken her away to his cabin as he wants an heir.
Mac who passes the info to Robert and gang. Robert and gang pass the word
onto the WSB, who foils the hit. When the WSB congrats the trio of Scorpio, Devane, and
Donely, a pleased Robert reminds him it's now "Scorpio, Scorpio, and Donely".
The WSB is still trying to dicipher the codebook Dom gave Mac. Meanwhile back in New York,
Mac's attempt to help Dom escape is foiled and Taub's men beat Mac up. Taub wants an heir
and plans to forceably take Dom out of the country to their Bavarian hunting lodge.
At the Cartel's NY meeting, Cesar brags about his
success in annoying Robert with his attentions to Anna. Taub orders that a plant
being paired with Tony so that his reseach to find a cure for Tiffany's illness is
sabotaged. The cannery's secret production of carbon disulfide, a chemical that
causes anywhere from disorientation to slurred speech to death, is going well Harlan
reports. When he returns to PC, Cesar warns Paul to follow orders, telling him there
is no cure to the illness that Tiffany and Susan, Paul's young daughter, were injected
with. Dom also manages to get back to PC, but is hit by a car when she doesn't hear
it barreling towards her. Mac realizes it's Dom and rushes to her side. Under an
assumed name, Mac has Dom treated at the hospital and then hide in the
Brownstone attic. Taub demands Robert find them both. Anna, Tony, Bobbie and
Felicia help the lovebirds and Finian arranges for tickets to Australia. However
Taub's men arr ive
and grab the group. Dom agrees to go in exchange for no one
getting hurt. Robert hits the roof when he learns Taub's men held Anna hostage.
Taub takes Dom back to NY and warns her not to escape again or he'll kill Mac.
I Put a Spell on You
Cesar sneaks into the Scorpio's hotel room, checks out all the nooks and cranies, and
fantasizes about Anna in bed. Later, Anna answers the door in her nightgown and
robe, thinking Robert's misplaced his key, only to find Cesar at the door. She
immediately threatens to call the hotel security, but he cuts her short uttering the
post-hypnotic phrase "Can you hear the waters whispering?" Under his
spell, he ushers her into the bedroom where he commands her to go to sleep, and waits for
Robert to return. Hypnotizing Robert, he programs Scorpio into thinking he's
witnessed Anna making love to Cesar in the Scorpio's hotel bedroom. Robert then
leaves and gets drunk with Bill Eckert. Anna awakens, remembers nothing and dresses for
the Quartermaine party.
Drunk, Robert and Bill crash the Paul and
Tracey's engagement party where Robert humiliates Anna by publicly accusing her of
adultry. She decks him across the room and asks to spend the night at the
Donelys. Bill gets his turn by decking Paul. The next morning, a confused but
angry Anna dumps water onto a sleeping Robert, and the two argue over his accusation.
"I saw you with Faison!" Robert insists and refuses to believe his wife.
Angry, Anna packs her clothes, but they're interrupted by Sean with the news that
Dom committed suicide. After Robert leaves, Sean gets Anna to remember that she
sensed Faison was at her door and there was the scent of cigar smoke in her bedroom. Her attempts to reconcile with her stubborn husban fail,
and they discuss
separating.
