Edge's a Fake
Anna and Edge have a date, discussing his music and directing aspirations, and she invites
him back for a nightcap where they slow dance. She reflects his attempt at a
goodnight kiss. Afterwards, she makes a call, saying "There's someone I'm
curious about. I need to know more about him." The next day when he shows up to claim
the diamonds, Edge is upset when he learns about the Jeromes' past with Anna. "I'm
nothing like the rest of the family, but Anna will never believe that," and he
decides not to takes the diamonds. Later, on the docks, the two meet and when he
confesses to being Evan Jerome, she thinks he's lying. He then confesses his real
name is Eric Jackson, and that Evan once was an employee of his. She then snubs him.
Edge decides Decker will be the next sucker in his con game.
Meanwhile, Robert informs Scott he'd better turn up the
real Jerome or face charges of fraud for trying to pass Edge off as Jerome. Scott
pleads innocence. Broxton then gives Robert proof Jerome's dead, so Robert gives the
diamonds to Lucy. Lucy's stroke of luck is short lived however, when an IRS man
shows up and takes the diamonds as back tax payment for the Jerome estate. Casey
unwittenly gives Broxton the diamond pouch, though luckily Robert's memorized the numbers
written inside. Broxton catches Bobbie searching his hotel room for the file, after
she realizes the numbers match those on Cheryl's medical file.
Bobbie Won't Let Go
Tiff's not off mark when she suggests that Cheryl and Shep broke
up because of Cheryl's hang up on Robert. Cheryl denies it but Tiff's not
convinced after overhearing Cheryl purchase baby clothes for her
"son". After hitting her back, she rushes back to the hotel and
collapses. Robert later carries her to hospital when a hurt Cheryl shows up at
his place. She drifts in and out of consciousness as Alan informs an upset Tiff
that may die due to her kidney problem.
Coming to, Cheryl murmurs to Tiff, "My baby
isn't dead. You have help me find him." Alan is alerted about the
miscarriage and Cheryl's condition improves. At Cheryl's hotel room, Tiff is
shocked to find presents labelled, "My darling husband, Robert." Tiff
refuses to believe that Cheryl had Robert's baby after her little sis insists
that she can reunite with Robert if her baby is found.
Bobbie's thrown when Broxton hints that Lucas's
father is alive as she assumed that the deceased Julian Jerome was Lucas's
father. Robert decides that Broxton's blackmailing Bobbie but hasn't yet figured
out why. He and Frisco also know that if Bobbie can be prosecuted if she is
aware of Broxton's illegal activities and kept quiet. Meanwhile, Broxton's been
setting Robert up to look shady. He secretly moved money into a bank account
under Robert's name and plans to blab that Robert is Lucas's father. Robert
nails Rita, who charity isn't legitimate, and tells her to leave town. She tells
a confused Tony to watch out for his wife. Bobbie orders Ruby to destroy
Cheryl's baby file if Robert nails Broxton. Her eratic behavior causes Tony to
accuse Bobbie of having an affair.
Broxton's caught by Robert and jailed for the
contaminated condo water. "Once you see my hand, your life will never be
the same again," Broxton smugly tells the Aussie, who refuses to bargain.
Despite alarms, Bobbie steals Broxton's file labelled "Billion-Dollar Baby
File" before an out-on-bail Broxton gets to it. He just manages to grab his
ledger before Frisco and Robert show up. "Did you think you were going to
get away with blackmail?" Robert asks Broxton as he's arrested again. Not
realizing Frisco saw her leave, Bobbie burns the files.
Nailed
After Robert learns that the numbers match Cheryl's file, she
confesses to Robert that "The baby is alive. You have to help me find him.
I heard him cry," she pleads. A step ahead, Frisco gets Broxton to confess
that Lucas is Cheryl's stolen child and tells Broxton to stay quiet in exchange
for a plea bargain. Bobbie begs Frisco no to tell anyone. He goes to Cape Cod
and learns that the shady baby doctor is dead. Robert and Anna arrive soon after
and track down Ester, the nurse, who confesses that Lucas is indeed Cheryl's
child. They also learn that Frisco was there just before them.
Bobbie assumes that Frisco blabbed after Robert
confronts her. "No more lies. Lucas is Cheryl's baby!" the angry
commish roars. She refuses to give the baby back, so Robert tells her that he'll
be forced to get a court order to take the baby. When Broxton tries to threaten
Robert by telling everyone about Lucas, Robert smugly tells him that he already
knows and is taking the child from Bobbie.
Robert feels betrayed a second time when he gives
Frisco a chance to confess his part of Lucas's kidnapping and Frisco keeps
quiet. At a homecoming party at the brownstone, Bobbie manages to alert Frisco
that Robert knows the truth. A furious Robert makes Frisco turn in his badge.
Knowing forgiveness is not one of Robert's better traits, Frisco lies to Felicia
about quiting the force so that he can stay home with Maxie while Felicia works.
Being a house husband is definately not in Frisco's liking, especially after he
has to babysit a group of children because Felicia had joined a babysitting
group.
Fleeing to Kelly's with Lucas, Bobbie finally
confesses to Tony the truth and is crushed when he walks out on her. Robert
shows up with the court order and gently pries the baby from her grip. Frisco
confesses to his spouse as well, who understands why he did it. He decides he
needs to get a day job as he takes babysitting.
Who's baby is this?
Cheryl's stunned when Robert presents Lucas to her as her son. She
in turn stuns him by saying "He isn't only mine- he's ours!" and
points out that the timing is right. He denies being in love with her and after
she continues insisting they belong together, Scorpio drags the trio down for
blood tests. Unfortunately for him, Anna and Robin are there as well. They'r
both furious with the possibility that Lucas is Robert's child. "Why didn't
you tell me I had a brother?" Robin demands and makes a scene. "The
best form of birth control is keeping your pants up," she tells her
embarrassed father. He pleads for Anna's interfere, which she reluctantly does
but not before adding her own comments. "You should have a license for
running a mobile sperm bank," she angrily tells her ex.
Bobbie follows Anna's advice and apologizes to
Cheryl, who refuses to take it as she realizes that Bobbie's only doing it to
get back into Tony and Robert's good graces. "I have my baby. You have
exactly what you deserve- nothing!" Cheryl growls. Sean and Tiff break up
the catfight that ensues. Tiff wants her sis to sue Bobbie.
Robert's relieved when the blood tests prove he's
not the tot's father. Much to Tiff's chagrin, Cheryl refuses to give up her
pursuit. Stopping by to tell Anna the results of the test, the two get into a
very nasty fight. "You play with women's hearts; it's a hobby of
yours," Anna accuses and goes on to tell him he's a cold fish. "You
kept me from being a father to my child for years. Who the hell are you to tell
me I'm cold and unfeeling?" he retorts. She then tells him he's incapable
of love. After telling her she was once a blooming rose, Robert snarles, "I
see someone withering on the vine, sprouting thorns. An unattractive,
full-fledged nag." Both part ways deeply wounded by the other.
