Delivering
Devane
Later, Cesar's rattled with he gets a fax from
his DVX partners telling him to "Dispose of Anna Devane," who they consider too
much of a distraction to Cesar. After trying to get in touch with Cesar, Anna
arrives at Wyndamere and argues with Jacques, who claims Cesar is away on
business. Seeing some men carrying a large crate upstairs, Anna pretends to leave
and sneaks upstairs. Knowing she'd be curious, Cesar comes in behind her as she
enters the room and stands horrified looking at a large portrait of herself, Cesar, and
Robin together, like one be happy family. He's caught off guard when she freaking
out and grabs a fireplace poker to smash the portrait. "I'd rather my daughter
live with the truth about me than have a vile madman in my life," she spits at him,
then runs out of the room.
Furious, he takes off to meet his partners, telling
Jacques "I'm fighting for Anna's life and my own" as he rushes out the
door. At the DVX meeting, Cesar puts forth his case to keep Anna alive.
"I can deliver her to you as your colleague- and my wife," he promises and his
partners agree, as long as she joins them within the month. "I have the power
of the Roman Gold," he assures them.
Remondo
Searching through all Faison's enemies looking for an ally, Robert and Sean decide on a
rebel dictator named Remando. Arriving at San Cristos, Robert tries to hook up with
Remondo's sorceress girlfriend, Electra. Dressed up as Remondo's deceased friend,
Lorca, Robert shows up at Electra's seance and tells Remondo to get revenge on Faison, who
had killed Lorca. Remondo replies he wants to but "I can't kill Faison, not
without the Roman Gold."
Unfortunately, Kate's secretly followed Robert to San
Cristos and blows Robert's cover. Furious, Romondo has Robert taken away to a jail
cell, while Kate slips away with her guide, a loud local boy named King.
A Coin By Any Other Name Isn't the Same
Anna and Sean are beside themselves with worry after Robert's not checked in. On San
Cristo, Robert's imprisoned for when his scam to imprisonate Lorca fails and awaits
execution. Kate chases after him, and ends up weeping over his limp body as she
doesn't realize that Electra, Remondo's associate, had given him a death-like potion.
Upon awaking, the duo bicker non-stop and escape in a small plane, later finding
King has stowed away.
Robert informs his buddies that Remondo won't kill Cesar unless
without the "Roman Gold," which are four ancient Roman gold coins belonging to
the four top DVX bosses, which when given to a person grants that person the right to kill
without retribution. Armed with this information, Anna's more determined that ever
to play along with Cesar, who's returned from his mysterious trip and forgives Anna's
outburst over the portrait.
In exchange for Anna's life, which the other DVX bosses
want terminated, Cesar promises to deliver her as his "wife" and sever her ties
with Scorpio and Donely. That evening, to her horror, she discovers that Cesar has a
gold coin in his pocket watch and realizes that not only did he lied about leaving the
DVX, he's now one of the top four.
The Bride's the Prize
A pleased Cesar orders Jacques to prepare his Swiss estate, not in prepartion for a
new mistress but for a wife. A stunned Anna accepts his proposal, and tries
in vain to slow down the plans of the excited groom to be as he insists they marry in two
weeks and move to his estate in Switzerland. Anna doesn't tell Robert immediately,
but does tell their daughter that the engagement is bogus and that Mr. Sinclair's a man
from her parents' past who's not a nice man. Robin surprises her mum by
understanding and accepting that she can't ask any questions, and in fact relishes playing
the game.
Later at Wyndamere, Anna steals a DVX fax, not realizing the coded message
states Anna willl be eliminated should plans go awry.

Robert vows to a still weary Kate that once
the mission's over they'll be together. Anna too tries to appease Kate, telling her
that "I'm the past, you're Robert's future." King proves to be a
distraction for Kate, who's very taken with the young, though obnoxious, orphan. He
drives Robert and Robin to distraction, vying for both Kate and Robert's attention.
Anna manages to accidently dicipher the message, which states that if the
marriage doesn't go off, Anna will be killed. She sends a fake message with
Cesar's name to the DVX bosses arranging a meeting. She then has dinner with him
and spikes his drink so that he's too drugged to seduce her. She also switches
his watch so as to get his gold coin. Robert sneaks Romondo into town while
Frisco dresses up as Jacques and intercepts the DVX bosses.
Betrayed
At Robin's essay reading at Delafields, Cesar
realizes what Anna did too late. As he's threatening his sobbing obession,
Cesar's interrupted as Sean, Frisco, and Robert toss down the three
coins they got from the DVX bosses to have Romondo kill Cesar. A terrified Anna
then presents the fourth coin, which was Cesar's. "I will always love you,"
he tells a tearful Anna before fleeing.
