Caught!
Robert arrives too late to witness
the transfer. Bert, who thinks Robert's been disposed of, is shocked to
see Scorpio still breathing. Behind the club, Frisco and Felicia are
spotted by Lewis and Sam and are taken into custody. Unfortunately for
the couple, Bert gets to them first. Frisco demands to see Robert but
Bert smugly tells them that this is police business and Scorpio is no
longer a cop.
Determined to strip search the Joneses for the printout
[which unbeknownst to Bert the couple lost in Cincinnati], Bert rips out
the alarm system in the holding where Frisco and Felicia are being held.
The rupture in the alarm systems demands that they be transferred to
regular cells where they are stripped and searched and jailed with other
prisoners. Both are then attacked and later have to be transferred to
the hospital. As Tony rushes to check on his brother and sister-in-law,
Tania goes into labor. Bobbie helps deliver the baby. The grateful
parents later dub the baby Barbara Jean, in honor of Bobbie.
Angered
by the attack on Felicia, Frisco publicly balls Anna out for betraying
them over Duke. With Robert, Sean, Frisco and Felicia on opposite sides
of Anna, the lady cop is struggling to keep it together. Jake manages to
get the couple out on bail and Tony uses savings for a new home to pay
the bail. After the police board unanimously votes to terminate Frisco's
police career, he eagerly accepts Robert's suggestion that he work
undercover at Duke's Club. Sean, Frisco, Robert and Felicia work on
diciphering the Tumble Dry computer code.
The
Deceivers
Duke's not the only one feeling
guilty. Tiffany's guilt-ridden over her part in the plot to send Sean to
prison. Sean confesses to Tiff that Edward claims he has proof to clear
Sean of Alan's murder as well as evidence that Sean conspired with
Dimitri Cassadine to bilk the Qs of their millions. Back
in Pautauk, Monica faints at the sight of Alan happily clasped in
Charity's arms. Alan then goes into damage control mode and peddles his
amnesia story. Monica's alerted though when, after talking to a
psychiatrist at GH, she learns that Alan was researching amnesia victims
right before his "death."
Duke Takes Action
One
night, Frisco sneaks into Duke's office to try a list of possible access
words. As he works on the computer, Duke, who's working late, walks in
and exclaims, "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Caught red-handed, Frisco's explanation is
cut short when Angus and Damon call to say they're coming. When Frisco
confesses he lost the printout, Duke springs into action, printing out
another copy and handing it to Frisco just as Angus and Damon walk in.
Duke then leads Frisco into improvising a scene in which Frisco hands
over the printout in exchange for proof of Felicia's innocence. The next
day, Duke "finds" the guy who set Felicia up by bartering a
confession from the maitre 'd, Marco Dean, in exchange for $100,000. Felicia's
thrilled to be cleared and Frisco's not entirely sure of what to make of
Duke's actions. Robert doesn't buy Duke's guardian angel act but his ex
is so happy she agrees to go ring shopping. It's arranged that Frisco
will sing at the club and keep an eye on the activities. Felicia insists
on helping too and gets a job as a waitress at the pub.
New Leads
Anna wishes Robert would get off her back
about Duke. Robert counters with something he found in the WSB computer-
the word "L"Orleans" next to Duke's name. Duke was there
instead of Scotland during that month missing from Lavery's bio. Anna
refuses to delve any further. Undaunted, Scorpio leads his young
daughter in a little game of "detective." Just as he hoped,
she recognizes the voice of the man she overheard threatening Anna. It's
Damon Grenveille, the frightened tot cries.
Robert
is hell-bent on exposing Damon before he hurts Anna. Sean understands
but is distracted with the upcoming hearing for Alan's murder. Then,
give it up, mate, Robert suggests. Sean stews on it for a while. Thanks
to Tiffany, Monica knows her romance with Sean if over and puts Edward
on notice that she's on to him. She follows Edward's suggestion that she
stick by the Qs now that Sean's out of the picture, but not before she
tips of Sean that his beloved Tiff is in cahoots with Edward. Monica
continues to exchange barbs with her ex-lover, yet Sean manages to come
out smelling like a rose after Edward interrupts the hearing with the
shocking news that Alan's alive! Donely does have to return the 20
million to the Qs. Edward then stiffs Tiffany out of her 40 percent.
Surprisingly, Sean forgives Tiffany and believes her when she was that
was then, this is now. A jealous Monica fumes as the duo reconcile. When
Edward and Monica go to retrieve Alan they're shocked to learn he really
does have amnesia. Apparently "Simon" fell and hit his head
the day before. Monica decides to forgive Sean but not the Qs. Alan's
amnesia gives his bitter wife room to have herself made co-executor of
his share of the Q millions and the ability to block Edward's every
move. She also informs Charity that Alan was faking his first case of
amnesia and there's no way Monica's giving him a divorce. The
Double Cross
Hiding down in the basement, Frisco listens
through an air conditioning duct and overhears Duke ordering three men
to launder money in New York. They've got him, Robert exults. But when
Frisco stalks the three men to New York and sneaks a peek at deposit
slip, he sees the payment is to the Port Charles Dockworkers' Union.
Robert and gang ponder what it means, not realizing that Duke is risking
his life to double-cross Angus and the organization to make up for some
of his past bad deeds.
Robert keeps pushing at Damon until he
cracks and pays two hoods to bomb Anna's house. Luckily, Scorpio's sent
Anna off for a heart-to-heart weekend with Duke, and Robin's staying
with friends. Robert spots the bomb and manages to hurl it away from the
house. An outraged Scorpio orders Bert to arrest Damon, who then gets
off after Robert is only able to track down the thugs responsible but
not who ordered the bombing. Everything was handled over the phone. Duke
and Anna are shocked to learn what happened in their absence and the
event pushes Duke over the edge. A brawl between Duke and Damon at the
club is overseen by Frisco, who's confused when Duke asks him to take
care of Anna. The angry Scot has privately decided he's going to
have to turn state's evidence! Frisco fills Robert in on what happened
and both wonder what it means.
Since
he can't seem to find the right moment to confess to Anna, Duke goes to
Bert and blabs all. Playing his act to the hilt, Ramsey listens to
Duke's confession then orders a hit on him. Overhearing Bert refer to
himself as "Mr. Big," an furious Duke attacks the cop. In
their struggle, Bert is shot. While the doctor's work to save Bert's
life, Duke tells Anna the whole ugly story. Robert's unable to stop the
angry cop from forcing Duke to admit he only proposed because he was
forced to. "Damn you, Lavery!" Robert growls as he comforts a
sobbing Anna. "I'd kill you myself... but the punishment doesn't
fit the crime." A miserable Duke's begs her to believe he really loves her
and that Bert being "Mr. Big" fall on Anna's cold ears. She
hates him and refuses to believe anything he says. Robert's mind isn't
as set just he's got his hands full comforting Anna who comes home drunk
that night. [transcript]
