Bodies in the Basement
Rushing to the basement, Duke and Angel find the bodies of the hijackers that Victor had
taken prisoner. The two quickly put the bodies in bags and dump them into the river,
almost getting caught by Scorpio. Though he's still angry at Robert, Duke realizes
he needs his help to protect Anna and Robin in case the mob comes after the Laverys.
Going to NY to meet Julian, Duke learns that the dead men were part of the Carter mob, who
blame Duke for the murders. Julian warns Duke to be careful, saying "He's going
to kill you, Duke".
Pretending to be a Jerome mobster, Barry lies to Duke that
the meeting time's been moved up and drives him into an ambush. Julian however
catches on and chases after Duke. Gun fire explodes, and Julian's hit while Duke's
unharm. Duke picks up Julian and takes him back to Victor. Dying, Julian
pleads with Duke to legitimatize the mob, saying "Don't let me die for
nothing... Help father (Victor) go straight."
At Duke's Club, Anna and gang wonder where
Duke's at. When Robert fusses at her about Duke, Anna accuses the amused Aussie of
having lingering feeling for her, saying "You're in love with me, Robert, and I won't
stand for it!" Duke finally calls Anna, lying that he's helping a friend revive
his NY club. When he gets back, he lies again, saying he's become part owner of the
NY club, which he'll call Duke's II. Since the club in question is Greenie's, a well
known mob hangout, Angel warns him he could lose everything should Scorpio catch on.
Colton to the Rescue
Down on the docks, Sean's knocked unconcious when a 750-pound crate falls onto him from a
forklift. Colton astonishes everyone by single-handedly lifting the crate off Sean,
who's rushed to GH. Though he is diagnosed with only a dislocated shoulder, Sean's
frustrated with himself, saying his reflexes have slowed down because he's getting
old.
A grateful Tiff puts Colton on her, where he becomes a smash hit, with money
and praise flowing into the studio lines after his appearance. She immediately
offers him his own show. Colton finally agrees, and Tiff arranges for Terry to sing
on the show as well. Cheryl wants to produce The Colton Connection, but he then
becomes leery of her slick ideas for the show to accept donations, which she claims
will go to charity. To sway him, the sisters' confession that they're from a small
town background like him, but it isn't until he gets Felicia's encouragement that Colton
agrees to do the show. With his first show, he becomes an immediate hit.
Julian's Successors
Sean lets Felicia investigate Scotty for Cheryl, but Tiff's insecurities towards Cheryl's
intentions toward Sean prompt her to ask Robert to take Cheryl out on a date to distract
her from Sean. Cheryl ends up breaking the date and taking off for NY after getting
an upsetting phone call. Both she and Duke, who takes off without telling Anna where
he's going, will be attending Julian's funeral. There, Duke meets Julian's sister,
who tells him she plans to take Julian's place, and ushers the skiddish Scotsman to a
draped off alcove when he refuses to sit in the room because Cheryl would recognize him.
Olivia comforts a distraught Cheryl, telling her the only reason Julian didn't marry her
was because he was protecting her. Before returning to PC, Cheryl invites her to
visit PC sometime. Olivia sees this as an opportunity to get closer to Duke, as
Cheryl's renting the penthouse above his club.
Duke does get noticed though, but by Tom
Hardy, not Cheryl. Dining with his estranged wife at Greenies, Tom sees a ceremony
where Duke's being ordained into the Jerome mob with a ring given to him by Victor.
Duke convinces him to stay quiet, but when he gets home, he faces an angry wife. The
two argue and he lies that he was on club business, then they make up in bed. Victor
orders Duke to spend time in NY if he's to succeed in his quest to clean up the mob, but
makes it clear that Olivia is to having nothing to do with mob activities.
Sean in Love
Talking about Tiffany, Anna suggest to a skiddish Sean that he marry her. Anna then
points out he could end up alone like Robert, causing Sean to actually consider the
idea. Deciding to do it, he rushes over to Tiff's apartment and informs her they're
going to get hitched.
Insulted at his not proposing properly, she tells the
flabbergasted Sean no way and throws him out. He returns later, all dressed up and
treats her to a romantic dinner. He properly proposes with an emerald and diamond
ring, and gets annoyed when Tiff tells him she'll think about it. He tries again,
presenting her with a deed to a yacht, but she doesn't take it. "I'm making a
two-timing cad pay for all the rotten stunts he's pulled," she tells Cheryl, adding
that she does plan to accept Sean's proposal. Sean, on the other hand, is getting
mad and having second thoughts.
