Round Midnight
Robert surmises that both Tucker and McAllister used a witch hazel smelling lotion before
they died, while Jimmy uses one of Kate's record albums to hide the stolen bonds. Kate's
nervous that Tanganeva's prediction that Robert will die by the hands of a blond before
the new year arrives will come true, but agrees to attend the murder mystery party at
Wyndamere. Jimmy decides to use the prediction by spiking Robert's aftershave with poison.
At the stroke of midnight while searching for Kate, a dizzy and pale Robert collapses and
falls down the stairs at Wyndamere, lying unconscious at the bottom. He's taken to GH
after Frisco administers CPR.
At GH, Jimmy plays the compassionate pal to an upset Kate
and is pleased when Monica announces that Robert had a coronary and died. Quickly
appointed interim police commissioner, Anna tells Jimmy he's cleared of all charges and
has Tracey charged with McAllister's murder. Thinking he's free, Jimmy moves the bonds
underneath the carpeting of Kate's stairs, not knowing that Kate is being reunited with
Robert who's hiding in the secret room in Sean's penthouse. Robert and gang are well aware
of Jimmy's doing and are playing along to get proof on the murderer and the location of
the missing bonds.
The Sneaky Jeromes
Olivia's taken to the hospital with pneumonia, where Colton insists on staying by her
side. Anna thinks he's a fool for believing her, and Julian threatens Olivia, saying
"I want to see you behind bars for the rest of your life" as he rightly blames
her for their father's
death because of her obsession with Duke Lavery. At the hospital,
Frisco thanks Colton for his forgiveness letter to Felicia.
Julian worms his way into the
Laverys lives, bringing by christmas presents for Anna and Robin under the pretense that
he was to help ease the pain of their first christmas without Duke. Anna's touched, but
Sean's rightly suspicious and questions him about Cheryl, who Julian claims is won't have
anything to do with them because "It may be for the same reason Cheryl and I are no
longer together- she never got over Robert Scorpio." Duke, still bandaged and
using the pseudenum Daniel Lund, is upset after calling Anna's and Julian picks up. The
smarmy Julian gets Anna to agree to team up and track down Daniel Lund.
Happier moments are in store for Felicia,
who's thrilled when Frisco proposes, responding "I thought you'd never ask!",
and for Kate, who's aunt Iona responds well to her heart transplant. New Year's eve
approaches as Anna plans to attend the Wyndamere party with Julian, while Duke decides to
return to Port Charles.
With Friends Like These
Colton invites Olivia to stay with the Shores, which unnerves Charlene who tells her
trusting son "I lie awake every night, afraid if I go to sleep I'll get my throat
cut." Anna refuses to let Olivia free, more intent on nailing Olivia than ever. Duke
learns that Julian's hunting after him, at the same time that Julian learns that Duke's
returning to Port Charles in a new disguise. Anna, not realizing Julian's out for revenge,
allows him to escort her to Robert and Kate's engagement party and the odd duo raises
eyebrows.
Kate and Frisco perform a duet and accept Terry's job offer. Kate considers
giving up her concert tours after marriage, but Robert persuades her not to give up her
career. Frisco however isn't so lucky, as the WSB refuses to leave the ex-agent alone,
giving him a file that insinuates that his closest friends are in danger. He comprimises
by announcing he's going on tour (which is a WSB cover) and that he and Felicia would
quckly marry before the tour. Family and friends quickly arrange a intimate wedding at
Sean's penthouse for the duo.
Showdown Coming Down
In Boston, Kate makes a surprise announcement saying it would be her last as "I love
my music, but I love Robert more." And unlike Anna, Olivia knows that Julian's
setting her up after he arranges for her bail. The showdown is approaching, as Duke works
his way back to Port Charles, now as Jonathon Paget. He intercepts the rare Wellington
Collection and buys it before it's delivered to the buyer, Sean, but then agrees to sell
it back to Sean. Using the collection as an excuse, he faxes Anna requesting extra
security, which she accepts by faxing "Look forward to meeting you." "Soon
we'll be together again," Duke sighs.
