Two Faced
After learning about Victor's death, Duke ditches his federal protection guards at the
Kennedy airport, where he's seen by Anna. She's shaken, and laments to Robert that
she's unable to let go of Duke. In Brazil, Duke hides out a plastic surgery clinic,
insisting that "Not even the slightest hint of my old face or voice must
remain," and undergoes a series of surgeries to altar his face and voice.
Julian meanwhile accepts a job with Sean's shipping firm so that he can keep an eye on
Anna and sends men to track Duke down. When he manages to find the clinic, Duke's
able to hide from Julian after overhearing the doctor refuse to let Julian see the patient
"Daniel Lund", which is Duke's new alias. Thinking maybe he's meeting Cheryl,
Tiffany wants to follow him to Brazil, while Sean's sure Julian's after his father's
killer. When the Donelys meet with Dr. Silva, Duke panics, but the doctor calms him
down. Duke still has one more surgery ahead.
Finding the clinic, Anna doesn't realize the
bandaged man is really Duke. He keeps trying to motion her away, later slipping a
note under her door saying, "Danger. Leave." When assassins fail to kill
Duke, Julian vows to kill him, even if it involves killing Anna too. Snooping
around, Anna finds the name Daniel Lund in Duke's file and assumes he killed Victor.
A smarmy Julian realizes she doesn't know that Lund is really Duke, and decides to use her
to find the diamonds and as a lure to bait Duke. Worried, Duke leaves the clinic
early and keeps track of Anna and gang's movements. Living on the streets of Rio,
Duke buries his personal effects with a corpse, to cover his tracks. Duke then
recuperates with a Brazillan fisherman's family while Julian insinuates himself more on
the Lavery household, helping Anna and Robin put up the family christmas tree.
Olivia on the Loose
Fleeing the sanitarium, Olivia breaks into Scotty's place, steals
his gun, and heads for the hotel auction. There Robert chases her to the roof, where
Colton's waiting in a helicopter to fly the governor off. Holding a gun on him,
Olivia forces him to take off, but the force of the propellers knocks Robert and Kate off
the building.
Clinging to one of the letters that spell out the hotel's name,
they're forced to jump to another letter when the first one falls off. After they're
rescued, Robert leads her back to the roof, and presents her with a ring, saying "I
want you with me all the time. Forever and ever, till death do us part. Will you
marry me?" Kate accepts.
A distraught Charlene blames a
guilt-ridden Felicia for Colton's plight. Rescue teams are unable to go after the
duo because of bad weather. When Colton tries to overpower Olivia, she causes them
to crash into the woods. Waking up, Colton, who's pinned underneath the wreckage,
pleads with a despondent Olivia to help him. Quietly staring out at the falling
snow, she only replies "I'm already dead".
Managing to free himself from
the wreckage, Colton holds a gun on Olivia, but ends up shooting her when the two struggle
over the gun. Though weak from his wounded leg, Colton bandages Olivia up and
carries her to a nearby abandoned cabin. He then collapses with a high fever.
Ignoring his pleas for help, Olivia takes his coat and the food and heads out into
the oncoming blizzard. Delirious, Colton dreams about Felicia. Olivia returns
shortly, unable to find her way in the dark night.
Though she still insists she's
not going to helpf him, Olivia grudgingly agrees to write Colton's letter of forgiveness
to Felicia. "Now I can die," Colton murmurs before falling
unconscious. She also stays to nurse Colton instead of fleeing with a jeep she's
found. Slowly getting better, Colton and Olivia discuss love while the storm outside
rages on. "I was ready to kill Duke rather than let Anna keep him... that's the
only kind of love I understand. Your kind of love would never work for me,"
Olivia explains to Colton when she disagrees with his forgiving Felicia for picking Frisco
over him.
Poison
Learning that his partner, David, is going to sneak off to France
with mistress Lynx, Jimmy poison's Davids aftershave and steals back the bond
certificates. Having intercepted a message from Lynx, a furious Tracy confronts
David and makes a scene. She's overheard threatening him with "I'll see you
dead before I let you make a fool of me!" A dizzy David goes upstairs and is
later found dead with a gun gripped in his left hand. Robert's immediately
suspicious because David's right handed. Tracy's arrested, but gets out on
bail. A smug Jimmy thinks he's gotten away with murder, again, until he learns that
David's heart will be given to Kate's ill Aunt Iona, who's in desperate need of a new
heart. Jimmy then worries that the poison may be detected and could kill Iona, which
could support Robert's suspicious of foul play.
