Fan Weekend Event Recaps and Pictures:
I've been fortunate
enough to attend several GH fan events. The following pages detail some
of the adventures my friends and I have had at these events.

don't take my pics, as I made them specifically for my

Thursday Night
Kickoff Event, July 20, 2006
The
funniest thing about this event is that NO ONE had any idea who
was going to show up and what would happen. It was like a
mystery event. I'd heard early that afternoon that Ignacio Serricchio
(Diego) would be performing with his band and sure enough, ran
into him carrying in musical equipment as the event was being
set up. He was much cuter in person. The event itself was nice
but much more casual than most GHFW events. People just lingered
about, munching on snacks and drinking until the actors started
showing up. The actors who played Diego, Max, Ric, Lucky,
Detective Cruz [who is very cute in person, by the way], Mac,
Georgie, Robin and Patrick all showed up at different times.

Ignacio was very
charming and his band livened up the joint. Several people got
on the floor and danced. The little girl who sang one of the
songs was absolutely amazing! John J greeted his fans with his
usual warmth and dazzling smile. Luv that man! Had to laugh when
I overheard a fan quizzing Rick about the upcoming RAM sex
scene. He didn't seem to pleased about it [the scene] but stayed
most the night to meet with fans.

For three days, I
kept running into Jason Thompson... or more accurately, almost
bumping into him or not seeing him standing next to me. Talk
about oblivious. And he was #2 on my To Meet list this year,
after Tristan. Imagine my surprise as I'm enjoying the concert
when Kimberly comes up to stand right by me on my left and Jason
on my right. The cameras swooped in as everyone realized who
they were and poor Kim and Jason seemed a bit overwhelmed. It
was pretty late and they apparently just got off work. As we
were leaving the event center, we ran into Scott Clifton trying
to find the event. He said he'd just gotten off work too.

Opportunity of
a Lifetime! July 21, 2006
In
one of those amazing, freaky turn of events, I got invited to
attend a taping of Finola's show, How Do I Look? A friend
of a friend met one of Fin's production people who invited her
to bring 10 friends to the taping. The young lady being
made over didn't have much family and friends in the area, so we
ended up being the friends of the family. And in another
turn of irony, several of us in the waiting area kinda knew each
other from posting online. We had a great time yucking it
up while waiting to get to the set. Finola popped in and
chatted with us a bit, then her two little boys came in as
well. They are so adorable! I think Cash didn't know
what to make of us, he kept staring at us like "Who are you
people?" His big bro Dylan was more outgoing.
It was so evident how much Finola loved being a mom and her
boys. Then they all left, Fin promising we could take pics
later.
I've never been to a
show taping before and it was quite a new experience. The
set was very nice but so much smaller than it looks on tv.
There were all these lovely chandeliers hanging down and a
fashion runway. It was also hot as blazes in there... but
I wouldn't trade the experience for the world. The heat
from all the lights seemed to cancel out the air
conditioning. Everyone was very nice and Finola was
great. The woman never sweated, despite the fact that
everyone else was melting, literally. Talk about
composure. Two of the participants on her show were the
couple that won the Amazing Race competition - Joyce and
Uchennya (sp?) - so those of us who watched them on tv were
thrilled to meet them too. He was really nice and came
over to chat with us several times. The man who walked us
through what we should do was very entertaining and one of the
writers sat with us a bit and chatted. Some of us thought
he looked familiar and finally placed him. He used to star
on the Nickolodian show "Arcade" years back.
After the show
wrapped up taping, we all went outside to take pics by Finola
dressing room [see photo above]. Despite it getting late
and she needed to get home, Finola very graciously posed for
pics with us, first as a group, then individually. And
signed photos and GH books people had with them. Talk
about a classy lady.
