News Recaps - 2006, 2007
Below is a storyline blurbs on the Scorpios from 2006.  Didn't know where to stick this, so just made up a new page.

A Robert and Anna Reunion?:  Hallelujah - GH's Rick Springfield (Noah) is getting a summer story! Or so the show's headwriter, Robert Guza Jr. hopes. And if the scribe really gets his way, Robert and Anna will be joining him.
"We're going to see a little story for Noah that will very much involve Robin and Patrick," says Guza, "and it may - may- involve the parents of Patrick and Robin. It may."
This is fabulous news for Tristan Rogers (Robert) and Finola Hughes (Anna) junkies! "We want to play a story for Noah which is going to directly impinge upon Patrick and Robin," says Guza. "The question is whether it will include Robin's parent or parents. It's just been a question of timing and working out their schedules."
How about a hint or two? "Noah will turn out to have a life nobody knew about. It's not in the way you think. It's going to be a fun story. We've been wanting to do this story almost since we brought Rick back." Guza adds, "When we get closer to it and all the deals are in place, I will absolutely pitch it to you. But we may have to put it on hold if we can't get everyone in the same room at the same time."
As we went to press, a spokesperson for GH confirmed for Soaps In Depth that Hughes will definately return for part of the summer, but there is no word on whether Rogers will be joining her. (SID 6/19/07)

Sizzling Summer Preview:  Also in the works is a story involving Robin, Patrick and Noah which the show hopes will incorporate the return of Robert and/or Anna. "Noah will turn out to have a life nobody knew about. It will directly impinge in very funny ways on his relationship with Patrick and Robin. You're going to see father and son getting closer again." (excerpt from SID 6/19/07 interview with GH headwriter Robert Guza Jr.)

Too Darn Hot! "Patrick and Robin get even closer and will be facing a scary new plateau. Noah is going to make his biggest run since he got here, and Patrick and Robin have to deal with their parents with the return of Robin's mom, Anna." (SOD excerpt, 6/12/07)

Will Robert Romance Anna Once Again? Longtime GH viewers were thrilled to see Tristan Rogers share the screen with his two leading ladies, Finola Hughes and Emma Samms, earlier this year. But will Robert ever resolve his unfinished business with his two loves?
The InDepth Story: Having briefly shared screen time in 2006 with past loves Anna and Holly, Rogers would be delighted to see them - or even another of Scorpio's ex-lovers, Tiffany - check back into GH on a more permanent basis. "To use the vets on the show, you've got to plan for it," he cautions. "Sure, I'd love to work with Sharon Wyatt (ex-Tiffany) again. But you've got to be integrated into something that's part of the fabic of the show."
Rogers adds that he'd like to have Samms return at least long enough to give their characters some closure. "Then, Robert and Holly can leave things with a question mark," he says. "From my understanding, Emma can't come back right now because of family reasons. Even if it were possible, I haven't heard any buzz that there's a desire to do it." The reunion of the Scorpio clan not only allowed Robert, Anna and Robin to air their family differences, but in the eyes of many fans, rekindled the spark between the two spies. "Finola and I had that one great scene," says Rogers. "It blew a lot of people away, and it left their relationship with a question mark.
But what are the chances of Robert and Anna's romance being revisited? At this point in time, slim to none. "This is not a story call at all, unfortunately," sighs headwriter Robert Guza Jr. "Finola's schedule is so hectic that I've never been able to count on her for much of a run. That's a problem [in planning story]. The minute she becomes available, she's here. But right now I can't promise much, because I just don't know.
Still, that hasn't stopped fans from arguing over which woman Robert should be matched with. "There's a debate going on," acknowledges Rogers, who quips, "I don't want to get involved in that one!" (SID 12/19/06)

Will Robin Get Pregnant? This week on GH, Laura's deteriorating condition combined with the near-death of a longtime patient leaves emotional scars on Robin, who admits to Sonny that she has lost all faith in living to a ripe old age. What will it take for her to look forward to her tomorrows?
If there's one thing that would bring a little light into Robin's life, it would be to start a family of her own, even though she knows the risks of carrying a child while HIV-positive. The threat of being infected with HIV has not only cast a shadow on Patrick's life, but it has also brought darkness to Robin's. He rushes to her side when he learns of her fragile state of mind and finds her in a very bad way. She declares she'll never give false hope to patients again. He tries to raise her spirits, but her brutal honesty only terrifies the parents of a sick child. Ticked by her cold beside behavior, Patrick tells her that her personal fears are causing more harm than good to both herself and their patients.
What, if anything, can snap Robin out of her funk? "I've made no secret about the fact that I do very much want to tell the story of an HIV-positive woman who decides to get pregnant," headwriter Robert Guza Jr. reveals. "I very much expect that we'll tell this story at some point. A lot of people don't know that it can be done. Extraordinary strides have been made in research into HIV and AIDS. HIV-positive women can get pregnant, and we want to explore that. We think it's an important issue not only as an issue iteself but also as an issue for this character.
"The HIV continues to complicate both their lives," Guza says of Robin and Patrick. "Fundamentally, it changes the nature of their relationship, bringing them to a different place." Like parenthood? (SID 12/5/06)

Hot Nostalgia - Fan Faves Return:  Kimberly McCullough flew back to the nest, followed by Rick Springfield, Tristan Rogers, Emma Samms, Finola Hughes and finally Genie Francis's Laura, who woke up after four-plus years. Francis summed it up for all the prodigal children when she told Digest in the 10/31 issue, "It is possible to come home again."
Hot Cause - Fight Against HIV/AIDS: Robin's return gave GH writers a chance to revisit the 1995 death of her beau, Stone, who unwittingly passed the virus onto her. Fast forward, Robin is a shining example that living with HIV is not a death sentence, and Patrick's exposure to it in surgery prompted education. "They just promised me that they wouldn't have [Robin] come back and die of AIDS," McCullough shared in the 11/29/05 issue. "And I was satisfied with that." (SOD 11/21/06)

A Whole Lotta Love: GH's Robin and Patrick - "I Love You!"  This week, Patrick utters those all-important words to Robin, whose reaction is certainly surprising. "There will be some intriguing things for this couple to deal with in the next couple months," teases Head Writer Robert Guza, Jr. "Some will be in a romantic vein, some will be more serious than others. Certainly the fact that he's still living with HIV is going to play out in the course of this run. This winter, you will know for certain whether or not Patrick is HIV positive."
The "cloud," as Guza refers to it, has tempered the way dashing Dr. Drake has looked at life- and love- over the past few months. "I hope the audience has gotten a little more understanding of where this guy is coming from," smiles Patrick's portrayer, Jason Thompson. "You could say he was abrupt in the beginning [laughs]. But what he's gone through with Robin, with other women, with his father and the liver transplant, and now the HIV, all that has affected him and made him who he is today. He's a very different man than he was a year ago."
We'll say. This kinder, gentler Dr. D declares his love for Robin, who promptly questions his motives, explodes and leaves. "They're dealing with the whole issue of commitment, which they've been wrestling with for months," elaborates Guza. "The L word is said, but then the question becomes, 'Then what?' Where do they go from here?' Patrick is a confirmed bachelor. During this, you will find out where he lives, how he lives and just what Robin intends to do about it."
For the short run, at least, Robin makes her decision. After a night of girl talk with roomies Kelly and Lainey, a cautious Scorpio faces her fears and tells her man that she loves him, too. "It's going to be really cute," blushes Thompson. "He knows that she's an awesome woman, a talented doctor. He certainly respects her. She's a little bit of a bleeding heart, which, having to face his own mortality, might have rubbed off on him a bit."
But it's not going to be smooth sailing on the sea of love, warns Guza. "Robin and Patrick are one of the couples who will be profoundly affected by Laura's return," the scribe ominously notes. "Remember, Robin is the one who initially planted this seed of hope that Laura could come back, and so Robin is going to be pivotal in the culmination of this story. The results are going to have very strong repercussions for her and for Patrick. (SOD11/14/06)

Shots Ring out! As the week begins, Maxie is forced to tell Mac all about her affair with Lucky. Thanks to the somewhat twisted version of events Maxie tells, Mac ends up paying Lucky a visit. As Maxie admits to Georgie her desire to see Lucky pay for having used her, Mac blasts the drugged-out cop and then fires him from the force! (excerpt from SID 10/3/06)

Are Patrick and Robin on the Verge of a Break Up?  This week on GH, Robin and Patrick deal with a patient who won't be operated on by Patrick because of the possibility of exposure to HIV. But when the patient takes an unexpected turn under another surgeon's knife, Patrick is forced to put his own crisis in prespective. Will being confronted with prejudice in the workplace being him and Robin closer or drive them unintentionally apart?
"The complications of Patrick possibly having been infected do not go away," previews GH headwriter Robert Guza Jr. "It profoundly affects him professionally, and it affects him and Robin personally. We're going to take this particular situation of Robin and Patrick's to a place where people have not gone before. It's not going to happen right away. Patrick won't get the answer whether or not he's HIV positive until New Year's Eve. This is another one we're doing in real time.
Fro months now, Patrick has accused Robin of using her HIV status to push him away. "It was a huge commitment for her in order to trust somebody to go there," Jason Thompson (Patrick) says of his character's hook-up with Robin. "She did it one and kind of got burned by it. Patrick has always said, 'HIV is just your scapegoat.' But now he sees what that was about."
Although there are certain HIV fact that have to be mentioned in storyline, the medical accuracy isn't the only thing Thompson needs to be concerned with. If Patrick's womanizing ways go too far or he doesn't react to Robin's HIV journey in a way deemed sensitive enough by viewers, Thompson could be turning off his female fans. That, for a leading man, is the kiss of death!
Luckily, the writers always throw me scenes," he notes, "where we see that he has a heart." (SID 9/26/06)

Autumn Wind:  Head Writer Robert Guza on Alcazar/Skye/Robert/Anna- "Alcazar starts working Anna to find out where Skye is. There are sparks, which Robert does not appreciate. Skye will return and have her baby, which will impact all of this with major repercussions."  On Robin/Patrick- "We're going to play all the ramifications of Patrick's exposure to HIV. He's going to see life from Robin's side of the coin and their romance will take a whole new turn." (SOD 9/5/06)

Just the FAQs, Ma'am:  "We really made the commitment to juxtapose comedy and high escapades stuff with very serious dramatic material. But that's not to say the Scorpio/Devanes don't get their fair share of drama. This is also about parents who abandoned their daughter, who let their daughter think they were dead for a long time. I was concerned about the juxtaposition, but I loved the way they performed it." (Robert Guza, Head Writer, on Was it a Conscious Decision to Balance the Darkness of Sonny's Illness with the Lightness of Robert and Anna's Return, SOD 8/22/06)

Life Throws Robin and Patrick a Curve Ball! Twist of Fate:  This week on GH, the tables turn when Robin tries to seduce Patrick and it is he who pushes her away!  As their future is threathed will it be the beginning of the end... or will they figure out that good things are worth waiting for?
The Waiting Game- Learning from Robin that Patrick cut himself in surgery while operating on an HIV-positive patient, Noah offers his son a few comforting words. April, the patient who'd been under the knife, finds out what happened and offers her own words of sympathy and support to the doc.

Soon after, Noah gets some promising news from Alan: Patrick's first HIVE test came back negative... but that could change at any point during the window of opportunity for infection!
Robin Flashes Back- The situation feels all too familiar to Robin, who turns to Jason for advice and admits to fearing that history id repeating itself. "She goes straight back to the emotion of Stone's death and not really knowing what the correct thinking is," explains Kimberly McCullough (Robin). Saying that Jason was always there for her in the darkest of days, Robin asks that he help her do the same for Patrick.
Sexual Healing- Patrick later runs-in to an old lover who makes it clear that she'd love nothing more than to catch up on old times... while naked. But upon hearing of his HIV scare, the beauty quickly turns tail and runs.

That evening, Robin invites her beau over for dinner and offers up herself for dessert. But Patrick rebuffs her attempt at seduction and insists that he is going to remain celibate until he gets a clean bill of health. With sex off the table, he beats a hasty retreat... leaving Robin feeling both dejected and rejected. "She's thrown by it," admits McCullough. "He's a very sexual being. And the fact is, he can't have sex with anybody else... or, rather, nobody else is going to have sex with him. So it's out of character for him to be selfless!"
But before long, the doctor is once again knocking on her door, offering up an explanation for his actions which she can not only understand but respect. The two doctors grow even closer, but can their fragile love survive the reality of their lives? (SID 8/15/06)

GH: Be Careful What You Wish For!  For years, we GH nuts have been begging the show to return to its medical roots. Now everybody's having a health crisis! Head writer Bob Guza gives us the prognosis on several hot plots.
Heartthrob doc Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) - the GH version of McDreamy - recently cut himself while operating on an AIDS-infected patient and will find out on New Year's Eve if he's HIV-positive. "But the story won't end there, even if he's in the clear," Guza says. "Dramatically, there are places to go with HIV, places I don't think any other show has gone." (excerpt from TV Guide, August 24, 2006)

Patrick and Robin Reunite: Noah plays matchmaker this week on GH when he brings Patrick and Robin together at Metro Court.
"He's pulling for them," sets up Jason Thompson, who plays Noah's son. "He can see there's an attraction and a mutual respect there. As much as they try to deny it and push it away, it's there. With everything Noah has gone through with pushing away intimacy in his relationships, he doesn't want Patrick to make the same mistake."
Unfortunately, Patrick balks when he realizes Noah has arranged lunch for him and Robin at MC. "He basically says to his dad, 'I'm not going to go,' previews Thompson. When Robin gets wind of what's going on, "She says, 'Whatever, he's not going to show up.' But she shows up anyway, ans Patrick isn't theree. She says, 'You know what? I'm making a big mistake.' Then she turns around to leave and he appears."
The two reluctantly sit down to have lunch and finally admit they miss each other. So instead of ordering from the menu, they decide to have each other as the main course... (SOW 7/25/06)

Patrick is Exposed to HIV!  When an AIDS patient crashes into the ER, the hospital refuses to admit her due to lack of insurance. But Alan pulls rank and they accept her. Robin and Patrick are thrilled when the hospital staff steps up to help. While operating on the patient, Patrick cuts his finger and exposes himself to the patient's blood. Robin urges him to immediately start the round of tests and preventative drugs. The experience makes Patrick realizes how courageous Robin is and brings them closer together. (ABC Soaps Hotsheet 7/2006)

Patrick Gets Lucky  Patrick catches Lucky in a liplock with Maxie this week on GH. Will he tell Liz?
"It doesn't look innocent at all," reports Patrick's portrayer, Jason Thompson. "With all the trust factors Lucky has had [with Patrick and Liz], it's ironic that Patrick would catch him in this position.
Instead of skulking away, Patrick breaks up the buss and confronts Lucky. As the boys go at it, Maxie rushes off to do damage control: She tells Robin that Lucky was only giving her a consoling hug and Patrick is going to stretch the truth to get Elizabeth in bed. "Robin chooses to believe Maxie," sighs Thompson. "But that isn't what Patrick saw at all."
Patrick decides not to tell Liz the truth. "He's basically gone around town telling Robin not to get into anyone else's business, so it's calling the kettle black if he tattletales," contends Thompson. "He's just going to let things fall where they may."
Will Liz eventually fall into Patrick's arms? "I don't think she thinks anything is going on," muses Thompson. "She's seen his song and dance before, so she's used to it. As far as Patrick is concerned, he respects Elizabeth. She's married, she's a mother, she works hard, she's a sweet person. But, obviously, she's a gorgeous girl, so there is an attraction there."
In other words, Robin could be out of luck(y). (SOW 7/18/06)

GH: The Noisy and the Nosy ... One of the biggest meddlers of them all is Robin, but she did the absolute right thing when she publicly told Nikolas he's John's father (also "for his own good"). She meddles for the right reasons most of the time, even if her interference doesn't always turn out for the best. As we know all too well, on soaps the road to hell is paved with good intentions. (excerpt from Mimi Torchin's article, SOW 7/4/06)

GH Heats Up!  It's a summer of upheaval on GH. "You'll need a scorecard to keep the players straight," chuckles Head Writer Robert Guza Jr. "There are challenging times ahead for our couples."
Anna/Robert/Alcazar/Skye: "Anna's back for her daughter, which is partly true, but that's not the only reason she's back. Robert, who knows Anna better than anyone, instangly gloms on to why: she's on assignment." Look out, Alcazar! As for Skye's baby, "We're very much going to play the new addition, not only what it means to Alcazar, Skye and Diego, but to Robert. You heard right. When one needs to, say, hide, one might ask the consummate escape artist how to do it."
Robin/Patrick: "Robin and Patrick are going to discover that sex is easy. Relationships are hard. We'll also deal with what it means for Patrick to have slept with an HIV-positive woman. We did all this once before from Robin's point of view. Now, we're not only focusing on Robin, but also on Patrick." (SID 7/4/06)

GH's Anna Returns; Is Faison Next?  Hot on the heels of her triumphant May sweeps return, Finola Hughes will be checking back in to GH.
"Finola Hughes is returning to GH," confirms a show spokesperson. "[She will be] starting at the end of June into the entire summer."
"I will see you all back in Port Charles!" stated the actress on her official web site, www.finolahughes.com. "Anna needs a place for the summer," she joked. "Know of any vacancies?"
The move does not come as a complete surprise, due to the positive fan buzz generated by Hughes's initial five-episode stint. "The [characters] we are bringing back, I am deliciously happy to have," stated Head Writer Robert Guza Jr. at the time. "It may look like we're just talking about May sweeps but it is not. We love the idea of various combinations resurfacing and reigniting in all sorts of interesting ways."
With Anna's impending return and Robert (Tristan Rogers) taking up residency yet again in PC, could Anders Hove's dastardly Faison be far behind? After all, the trio supposedly perished together in a boat explosion in 1992.
"Where the hell is Faison?" chuckles Hove, last seen on GH doing Helena's bidding in 2000 and currently residing in his native Denmark. "I would love to come back. It seems like a long shot. We're not exactly young anymore [laughs], but I would be ready for another adventure should it happen."
And yes, he's still got the long hair. "I haven't changed a lot in that sense. No one here recognizes me, but in London, they know Faison." (SOD 6/13/06)

Cabin Fever for GH's Robin and Patrick:  Robin and Patrick go on a hike- and then hit the sheets- this week on GH. "Robin invites Patrick to go to this picnic spot," sets up Kimberly McCullough (Robin). "It starts raining, so they look for cover and find this cabin. They find candles and wine. They're warming up by the fire and decide that they're going to make love for the first time." And they do.
Afterwards, Patrick pulls back. "Robin accuses him of freaking out because it's finally dawned on him that he could contract HIV," previews McCullough. "When Patrick says that's not it, Robin figures it out: He's afraid she's going to ask him for a commitment. Robin's already told herself tht that is not going to happen. So before he even has a chance to reject her, she tells him, 'I'm not going to ask you for a commitment, because, quite frankly, you're too immature."
This gets a... rise... out of Patrick, but before the two can have sex again, Jax and Carly barge in. "Robin and Patrick are still naked!" gasps McCullough. "Carly starts baiting Robin and making fun of her for being in that position. Robin's trying to hold back, because she knows the secret about John's paternity and doesn't want to [reveal it]. When Carly is mean to her, it's difficult for Robin to hold back."
But she does, and Robin and Patrick head back to PC, where the sexfest continues. "Once they start having sex, they can't stop," blushes McCullough. "They're meeting whenever they can- even the hospital supply closet!" Oh Epiphany won't like that at all. (SOW 6/6/06)

For Keeps: Are Robin and Patrick Falling in Love...or Lust?  With secrets and lies swirling all around them, GH's Robin and Patrick spend this week trying (and trying and trying) to make love, only to be continually interrupted. Is fate trying to tell them something? And when the would-be lovers finally consummate their relationship, will it be the beginning of a beautiful romance...or something they'll both regret?
If It's Not One Thing... As the week begins, Patrick has set the stage for seduction at the Metro Court. Unfortunately, the mood is ruined when they run into several PC residents, all of whom serve as a subtle reminder that Robin is sitting on the most explosive secret in recent PC memory: the truth about baby John's paternity! As if that's not enough to put a kibosh on their evening, an emergency leads to Patrick having to go to GH.
Small-town life being what it is, Robin continues running into both Jax and Nikolas, keeping alive and well the temptation to spill what she knows. But learning that Helena is on the loose keeps her silent as she ponders the possibility that Jax might actually be acting in the child's best interest. (Uh-oh. I am already imagining the Robin hate posts, lol. Wait and see it play out, people!)
...it's Your Father  The next night, Robin and Patrick are again set to seal the deal when she spoils the mood by comparing him to her father. Getting past her daddy issues, they are once again about to make love when Robert shows up with a few questions for his daughter's suitor! Robin's not particularly thrilled when her Dad and Patrick hit it off, and her beau isn't exactly tickled when he overhears her saying to Robert that she will never fall in love with the womanizing doctor.
After The Lovin'  Despite it all, Robin and Patrick give dating another try...only to have his car break down! Despite having to walk to a cabin (did we mention it was raining?), somehow romance - or at least lust - blooms, and they make love.
In the afterglow, Patrick denies being concerned about her HIV status but admits he's not big on commitment. Saying not to worry, that it's just sex, Robin proves as much by making love with him again. The next day, the fun continues as they do what well-trained docs have done since time began: sneak off for a quickie in the hospital linen closet! But here's the question: If this is all just casual fun, why is Robin so upset to see Patrick flirting with another woman? And if she truly has fallen for Patrick, will she wind up having her heart broken? "Things have gone a little bit further than either one of them planned," admits Jason Thompson. "It scares him a little...and it is going to shake him up!" (SID 6/6/06)

Spy Games: Finola Hughes Returns to GH!  Anna drops smack into the middle of the action this week on GH. Literally!
"Anna has found out what is going on with this whole adventure and shows up on the Maarkam Islands," sets up headwriter Bob Guza. "Luke, Holly and Robert are in grave danger along with Dillon, Georgie, Patrick and Robin. Anna drops from a helicopter dressed totally in black like Emma Peel on The Avengers.
"It's got to be one of the best entrances I've ever had," declares Finola Hughes (Anna). "It's fantastic. Exactly what I like."
While viewers will think Anna is there to rescue Luke and Robert, "that's not necessarily so," teases Guza. "Maybe she wants a cut of the action. Let's just say there's a bounty on Luke and Robert's head- and on Holly's head. There's money to be had. There's also jewelry in the mix. So it's played for high adventure and great romance."
Before Anna arrives on the scene, Luke and Robert are surprised when Lulu and Robin show up with Dillon and Patrick in tow. "Lulu and Robin are worried about their fathers," explains Guza. "Frankly, they feel like Luke and Robert are not as swift as they used to be. So they take off and try to rescue them."
While the girls attempt to save their dads, Luke and Robert will get into one misdaventure after another. But they still find time to compete for Holly's affection in between dodging bullets from bounty hunters, which is when Anna shows up.
"The first person who sees Anna is Robin," reveals Guza. "It's touching. Then Anna walks up to Robert, who holds his arms out and says, 'Luv, it's so great to see you.' Anna karate-kicks him to the ground and they proceed to have a huge fight. That's just the beginning of the return of the... romance."
"Anna's definately got her fighting [spirit] back," asserts Hughes. "If they write Anna with the intelligence she has, and the expertise from all the different jobs she's had throughout her life, it will be amazing. That would be taking it back to the character we used to have, that people enjoyed watching. It's great to see a woman up there with the guys."
Meaning Robert. "We'll see how they are now together," muses Hughes. "Perhaps they've mellowed, but I doubt it. They always had an adversarial relationship, but there's tremendous attraction there, too."
As for where the Anna/Robin relationship stands, Hughes says the opportunity to work with Kimberly McCullough again "probably sealed the deal" when she was deciding whether to return to GH. "I watch the show, and there's a lot going on in Robin's life. She's strong, but it might be nice to have somebody around her that's stronger, since she's fighting so hard with Robert right now."
"This is the first chance the show has had in 15 years to do real father/daughter/mother stuff with Robert, Anna and Robin," adds Guza. "It's cool that in the midst of this high adventure, Robert and Anna will have to deal with the fact that they let Robin think they were dead."
What about Holly, Luke and the rest of the cast of characters? "Expect one weird reveal after another with this story," grins Guza. (SOW 5/16/06)

Robert is Held Prisoner!  Although Robert has dodged assorted supervillans intent on destroying the world, when confronted by two teenagers, a snippy socialite and a frying pan-waving maid, it almost seemed more than he could handle. To prevent him from hunting down and turning Luke in for a sizable bond, Dillon, Lulu and Alice joined forces with Tracy by holding Robert captive in the Quartermaine freezer. Sensing that Tracy's fondness for Luke had turned to love, Robert realized that she was his best chance of breaking free. He pushed her jealousy button and, in the process, played her like a fiddle. "The longer you keep me here, the more time Holly has to work her number on Luke," he said, looking for a reaction. Seeing the fire in Tracy's eyes, he kicked it up a notch. "Let me rephrase that. The more time that beautiful, voluptuous Holly has to work her desirable, amourous clutches into your all-too-available husband... You never saw sparks fly the way they did between Luke and Holly. I mean, sparks that could start the great fire of London. But never fights. I mean, even after she fell in love with me and we got married, those two would walk into a room together and just spontaneously self-combust, all the time." Tracy was clearly livid. "When Luke risks his life for HOlly, how do you think she's going to express her gratitude?" Robert continued. "I mean, Holly takes the reward system very seriously." The naughty grin on his face sent Tracy into panic mode. "Okay, that's it. You're out of here!" she said, reading to untie him. However, the kids couldn't allow that to happen. Getting the upper hand, they tied Tracy up, too! This trapezoid of multi-generational talent kept up grinning from the scene's top to its bottom, bringing out the comedic best in Tristan Rogers (Robert), Jane Elliot (Tracy), Scott Clifton (Dillon) and Jule Berman (Lulu). (SID 6/6/06)

May Sweeps Preview:  "We're trying to get back to families," says GH headwriter Robert Guza Jr. of what viewers can expect to see in the coming weeks, which means multi-generational stories sprinkled with comedy, a dash of adventure... and a whole lot of romance.
Anna's Splashy Return!  "Finola Hughes (Anna) does one of the great entrances of all time on GH," says Guza of the daytime superstar's return, indicating that Friday, May 12, will be an episode fans won't want to miss. "Let's say that it involves helicopters, romance and karate! We're also going to address all the questions about Robert and Anna that the show never could before- how they could let Robin think they were dead for so long and how they could, in a sense, be such bad parents. What I love about this story is not only the comedic and fun aspects, but that it's going to have a serious subtext that has to do with fathers, mothers and daughters."
Watch Out, Jax!  The results of the latest paternity test to be run on Courtney's son will reveal the truth... but only if someone actually stumbles across them! "The paternity test identifying Nikolas as John's father is put in a hospital mailbox," previews Guza. "It's out there, floating tantalizingly around the hospital where almost anybody could see it." What will it mean when the truth-telling documents wind up in Robin's in-box? "I did not say that Robin sees it," Guza adds. "But let's also remember a few years back that there was another paternity secret that intimately involved Ms. Scorpio."
Robin's Rocky Romance  In dealing with the recent death of a patient, Patrick finally gets a bit of insight into his father's downfall. "The question is, how will he respond to this death?" says Guza. "Will he dive into a bottle like Noah did all those years ago?" Meanwhile, things between the dashing doc and Robin will move forward, but their romance won't come easily. "They will consummate their relationship, but not without first making many, many attempts. Some will be comedic, some not so comedic."
Bits 'N' Pieces  Jesse's death hits Maxie extra hard, prompting her to spin out of control. As the young woman loses her way, she finds considerable trouble... and winds up getting involved with "different men thatn she's been involved with before." (SID 5/23/06)

In Full Bloom:  "Virtually every single storyline explodes- some of them literally," chuckles Head Writer Robert Guza, Jr.
Luke/Robert/Holly/Anna:  "The glory days return to GH, as there will be a resumption of old times. The 'Wild Bunch' also brings in more people, affecting Luly, Robin, Dillon and Tracy. And [Anna] is every bit the super-heroine she was before."
Lucky/Liz/Robin/Patrick:  "Robin and Patrick build toward the logical culmination of their romance, but Lucky is convinced that there's something going on between Patrick and Liz. Lucky is going to have a major chemical dependency that's going to cause him to act in ways he wouldn't ordinarily act."
Dillon/Georgie:  Their youth is going to take a toll on this marriage."
The Quartermaines:  "The return of John Ingle [Edward] means the Quartermaines will be back, front and center. Edward's not pleased that Luke is not a member of the family, and is really not pleased when he brings Robert back with him." (SOW 5/2/06)

Worlds Turn:  Big Changes Lie Ahead on GH as Sonny and Jason Go to War, Robert Attempts a Reconciliation and Anna's Comin' to Town.  Did Digest really give GH the nod for Most Disappointing Show for 2005? What a difference a few months make... GH, which turns 43 on April 1, has redirected much of its focus back to its hospital roots. New couples like Jax and Carly, and Robin and newcomer Patrick, have brought love back to the afternoon. Robin's return in October of last year signaled the homecoming of numerous fan favorites. Rick Springfield (Noah), Tristan Rogers (Robert), Emma Samms (Holly) and now, Finola Hughes (Anna) are either back in Port Charles or on their way. "It's a very exciting time," acknowledges Executive Producer Jill Farren Phelps of the changes afoot. "It has exceeded our wildest expectations."
...Back at the hospital, Robin and Patrick have been fussing and feuding for months, but after Robin is banned from GH for operating on Patrick while on probation, both Dr. Drakes come to her defense, and Robin is reinstated. Then, in waltzes Robin's errant father, Robert.
"I'm so excited he's back," says Kimberly McCullough (Robin) of the man she hasn't called Daddy on-screen in nearly a decade. "It feels like it was just yesterday we were working together. Tristan [Rogers, Robert] is a great actor and we really have good chemistry- intimate. We don't have to work at it at all."
This reunion, as was the case in February, doesn't go smoothly. "I'm so glad they've played it the way they have," McCullough says of the animosity between father and daughter. "There's something to work for here. When I was a little girl, I didn't realize his character was such a narcissist [laughs]. So now, as an adult, it's like, 'Wow, he's kind of a jerk.' It all fits!"
After a confab with her Dr. McDreamy, Robin takes Patrick's advice and attempts to reach out to her father, only to find out he's not planning on sticking around. Vowing to take charge of her own destiny, Robin tells Patrick it's time they made love.
"I like the sparring," says McCullough of Robin and Patrick's push/pull pairing. "We already have couples on the show who are lovey-dovey. Boring! It's more exciting to see two people who are going head-to-head, yet have a mutual respect for each other and who are also attracted to each other. They're opposites because Patrick is a complete dog and Robin is compromised because of her HIV. Call her a prude- whatever. But when he tells her she needs to lighten up, she decides to take his advice."
And how! But will they ore won't they? "I hope Robin gets to go crazy," teases McCullough. "I think it's coming. She really needs to let loose."  (excerpt from SOD 4/25/06)

It's Only My Opinion... Jesse's death with poor sobbing Maxie by his side rang hollow because her devoted parents- Mac and Felicia- were nowhere. Bring Back Kristina Wagner!  I like Patrick and Robin's story, though, because GH has taken its time with it. His transplant story worked because I like Noah. A good, character-driven story. Whaddya know. (excerpt from SOD 4/25/06)

Robin Risks It All to Save Patrick- and His Dad!  Robin stands by Patrick this week on GH when she risks her career to help him save his hard-drinking dad, Noah.
It all begins with Jesse's death. "Everyone accuses Patrick of losing him on purpose so he could get Jesse's liver for his dad, Noah," sets up Kimberly McCullough (Robin). "Robin observed the surgery. She knows Patrick did everything he could to save Jesse. She says, 'Listen, I was in there. I saw what happened, There was no foul play. Leave him alone!'"
As Noah's transplant surgery gets underway, Patrick and Robin await word of his condition. But it turns out Jesse's liver is not a match, anyway. So Patrick takes matters into his own hands and decides to be a living donor for his father. "It's what Patrick has wanted from the beginning, and Robin is totally supportive," asserts McCullough.
So supportive that Robin forges Lainey's name on Patrick's psychiatric evaluation to expediate things. "Lainey is nowhere to be found," explains McCullough. "They're losing time, and this surgery has to happen quickly or Noah could die. So Robin says, 'I'll just sign it,' because she cares about Patrick." Unfortunately, the surgery hits a snag when Patrick's vital signs take a turn for the worse. So it's Robin to the rescue, again.
"She's not a surgeon, but all of a sudden she pops right in and starts barking ordres at people," chuckles McCullough. "It's crunch time. Robin does what she has to do."
Patrick and Noah survive the surgery. When Noah wakes up, he's surprised that he was given the transplant against his wishes and asks Bobbie who donated the liver. Enter, Patrick. "Robin takes him into Noah's room to help him explain what happened," says McCullough. Patrick blurts out that he was the donor. "Robin doesn't agree with how Patrick tells Noah, and she doesn't agree with Noah's reaction."
But she does have a newfound appreciation for General Hospital's own Dr. McDreamy. "They've gotten closer," concedes McCullough. "They've gone through a couple of things now- the epidemic, this thing with Noah.... These experiences are helping to build a relationship between them."  Not to mention a romance. (SOW 4/11/06)

Spring Preview-  Secrets are exposed, unlikely love affairs blossom, and there's trouble brewing for GH's superest of supercouples. Co-headwriter Robert Guza Jr. gives us a sneak peek at things to come this spring.
Luke & Robert Vie for Holly- "We're not done with Luke, Robert and Holly," assures Guza, who says the trio will be reunited for an adventure, just like in the good ol' days. But the drama won't only be about two men competing for the attention of the same woman... again. "Before, when they were running around, they didn't have grown kids to deal with. How are Lulu and Robin going to take to all of this?"
Patrick's Dilemma- Noah's condition is going to worsen, and his need for a liver transplant heightens. "But," says Guza, "he will continue to refuse it, to the point where he's on death's door and he's still refusing it. Patrick has a dilemma: 'Do I just let my father die?'" A donor surfaces after yet another death rocks a key player on the GH canvas. Meanwhile, Patrick and Robin's romance continues to develop, which will lead to some heavy conversations about sex... and Robin's HIV status. (excerpts from SID 3/28/06)
