The Sneaky Ex-Spy In 1984, Robert's best friend, Luke Spenser called for help because
he was on the run from murder charges. Robert sent him to an old friend of his, Sean
Donely, who had been Robert's boss in his old WSB days. Unfortunately for Robert and Luke,
Sean was actually after the Aztec treasure himself. Bored with his retirement, Sean
craved the excitement of going up against the challenge of another brillant spy, Robert,
and kidnapped those close to Robert. However, after thinking he had killed Robert, a
devastated Sean was so estatic to learn Robert was alive that he didn't fight Robert's
arresting him. The two made amends after Sean helped Robert defeat the evil Mr. Wu in
the Asian Quarter adventure. In return for Sean's help in protecting Robert's family,
Robert and Anna made Sean one of Robin's godfathers, a role which he took very seriously.
The
Godfather In 1985, the Robert, Sean and Anna made amends after Sean helped
them defeat the evil Mr. Wu in
the Asian Quarter adventure. In return for Sean's help in protecting Robert's family,
Robert and Anna made Sean one of Robin's godfathers, a role which he took very seriously. Sean
also took a liking to Dr. Monica Quartermaine and the duo had a torrid love
affair, much to Edward and Alan Quartermaine's chagrin.
#1
on the Hit List In 1987, Robert returned to Port Charles as temporary
head of the WSB and to protect his family and friends. Best friend Sean, who was
a former head of the WSB, was next of the hit list for a group of terrorists
targeting spies. With Anna, Tiffany and Duke's help, the group went to
Rushmore to catch the terrorist group and their leader.
The Reluctant
Groom In 1988, Sean suffered a case of mid-life crisis, then fell for
Dr. Greta Ingstrom. Unfortunately, her husband resurfaced, so Sean went back to
a miffed Tiffany who wanted her wandering lover to pay. The duo worked it out
however and got married in the Quartermaine mansion surrounded by family and
friends. Sean also helps a distraught Felicia track down Frisco's
"grave" after she is informed that her hubby has been killed.
The Struggle
In 1990, Sean's devious past resurfaced when his archnemesis, Cesar
Faison, arrived in Port Charles. Through flashbacks, it was revealed that the two had
plotted in destroying Robert and Anna's marriage back their WSB days. Then head of
the WSB, Sean had arranged for Cesar to appear to have died while Cesar, then one of the
heads of the rival spy agency, the DVX, helped Sean break up the Scorpios. After
failing to prevent Robert and Anna from discovering the truth, Sean helped his best
friends defeat Faison before Cesar could force Anna to marry him.
Payback
In 1991, Cesar got even with Sean by poisoning his wife with a
mysterious illness that caused her to go comatose. Holding the only cure, Cesar
forced Sean to do his bidding, though at the time Sean didn't realize that Cesar was
behind Tiffany's illness. Once Sean figured out Cesar's connection to The Cartel, he
joined up with Robert and Anna to bring the villians down.
Sean the Cop
In 1992, after Robert and Anna are presumed dead in a boat explosion with
Faison, Sean becomes the new police commissioner. Aside from trying
to comfort his grieving goddaughter, Robin, Sean also has his hands full when
his nemesis, Luke Spenser, arrives in town in 1993 and gives him nothing but
grief.
An Affair Not to
Remember In 1993, Sean and Tiffany's marriage falls apart when Tiffany
becomes obsessed with adopting her deceased sister Cheryl's baby, Lucas.
Unfortunately, Cheryl's will left custody of Lucas to Bobbie and Tony.
Lawyer, Jessica Holmes sets her sights on the millionaire cop and the duo have
an affair. Thrilled to discover she's pregnant, Tiffany is crushed to overhear
Jessica tell Sean she's pregnant. Tiffany miscarries and Jessica confesses
to Sean she lied. As Sean and Tiffany try to repair their marriage, Jessica
learns she really is pregnant and threatens to tell Tiffany. Sean responds
by threatening Jessica's life. Later, Jessica's found dead and Sean confesses to
the murder, thinking that Tiffany did it. Thankfully it was proven that
nutcase Ryan Chamberlain was the real culprit.
Down for the
Count In 1994, Sean is shot accidently by Luke Spenser during a shoot
out with mobster Frank Smith. Before the seriously wounded cop is sent off
to recouperate, Tiffany informs their friends and family that she is pregnant.
