Dillon Has Dinner at the Scorpios

Despite her parents objections, Georgie continues to see Dillon. Unfortunately for them, they're caught at L&B together. Georgie's parents threaten her with boarding school but Ned helps Dillon approach the Scorpios in a different way.

Below is the transcript in which Mac and Felicia catch Dillon with Georgie.  You can read the full 5/5/04 transcript at my pal Suzanne's TV Megasite page.

Dillon: I couldn't believe what I was hearing. You know, I thought -- i thought L&B used to be this, like, this boutique label with all these classy artists, and -- and, like, what happeNed?

Georgie: That was a long time ago, Dillon. The music business has changed.

Dillon: Yet another gleaming example of why i was born way too late.

Georgie: Ned is a businessman, Dillon. His first concern will always be the bottom line. But that doesn't mean that you and I can't do great work. Let's show Ned we can run with anything.

Dillon: Yeah, I guess. Yeah.

Ned: So, Ashley, I think you're a wonderful singer and a great dancer, which is why i want your first release to, you know, showcase what you do best.

Ashley: That's exactly what i was trying to explain to my so-called director.

Ned: Yes, well, i think our director is actually clear now on what our concept is. Right, director?

[Dillon snaps his fingers]

Dillon: Check.

Ned: Listen, I've got to get to a meeting, but while i'm gone, I want the three of you to put your heads together and to come up with a scenario for the video, ok -- not a good one but a great one. I'm anxious to hear what you come up with.

Dillon: All right.

Ashley: I want to revisit my outer space idea.

Dillon: No, not a chance.

Ashley: Why not?

Dillon: No way. Because it's stupid, it's shallow, and it's borderline incomprehensible, little miss.

Ashley: How can you call yourself creative when you have no vision?

Dillon: Ok, you know what --

Ashley: Have you even directed a video before?

Dillon: Hey, hey, let me tell you something, ok? I took first place at sundance film festival's student -- student division.

The scene fades out, then returns.

Georgie: Ok, so we start in a typical young girl's bedroom. You'd be wearing, I don't know, jeans and a funky t-shirt, and then you're -- ok, you're dancing in front of your mirror, you know, throwing your best moves down, then -- bam! -- You jump through the mirror, you're changed into this amazing outfit into a stadium full of people with backup singers and dancers.

Ashley: I love it! You must be a film student, too.

Georgie: Well --

Dillon: Georgie was top of her screenwriting class at u.S.C. Isn't that right?

Ashley: Wow! Did you just, like, adore college?

Georgie: No, no, no, that's --

Mac: Here -- see? I told you she would be here.

Felicia: I'm disappointed to see that you're right.

Georgie: No, mom, dad, I can explain what's going on.

Mac: That's enough! You're grounded, Georgie.

Felicia: For at least a month.

Ashley: She's a college grad. How can you ground her?

Mac: Who are you and where did you get the impression that my daughter graduated from college?

Dillon: Um -- I think I can clear this up.

The scene fades out, then returns.

Dillon: Look, I realize how this looks. I mean, you guys probably think this is personal, right, that Georgie and me ran away to be together, but that's not the case. This is -- this is work.

Felicia and Mac: Work?

Dillon: Yeah, you know, Ned hired me to direct a video project for L&B.

Felicia: Well, what does Georgie have to do with it?

Dillon: She's my creative consultant, and this is our artist, Ashley G.

Ashley: Ashley B, moron.

Dillon: Ashley B.

Mac: Well, Ashley B, if Ned is foolish enough to entrust your career to his teenage brother, that's between you and him, but Georgie will definitely not be participating.

Ashley: Wait a minute, teenage? Dillon told me he was a film student and won first prize at sundance.

Mac: He was lying. You see, that's what Dillon does. He's not a director or a film student. No, he is a dishonest, manipulative, spoiled brat who needs to learn how to stay away from my daughter.

Georgie: Why won't you listen to him? He's telling the truth.

Felicia: Georgie, you and I need to go home. Let's go.

Georgie: God, of all people, I thought you would understand this.

Felicia: Let's go.

Mac: For the last time, Dillon, you stay away from Georgie or I will find grounds to arrest you, hmm?

Ashley: So, you're nothing but a big liar.

Dillon: Uh-- yeah, you know, you can't-- you can't really trust what that guy says. He doesn't like me very much.

Ashley: Yeah, I got that. Now, get this -- I'm suing Ned ashton and L&B for fraud.

Dillon: Fraud?

Ashley: As in trying to pass you off as a director. Tell Ned he'll be hearing from my lawyers.

The scene fades out, then returns.

Ned: Why am I getting a sinking feeling?

Dillon: Uh, it's a long story. I will explain it to you, and then you can fire me.

Ned: Ok.

Dillon: Mac -- Mac hates me, and he doesn't want me to be around Georgie and he said that Georgie and I couldn't be together, so we lied. We said that she was writing a term paper. Actually, she was writing a term paper, so that was a -- that was a half-lie. But the Ashley girl, she started acting up and being all bratty, and so I lied again, and this time it was a big lie, it was a whopper. I said that I won sundance and Georgie's a professional screenwriter. So Mac and Felicia walk in, and then they whisked Georgie away, but not before telling Ashley that I'm just an amateur and I'm a total liar and i am nowhere near being a real director, and so Ashley storms out then and threatens to sue you for fraud.

Ned: Hmm. And all that happened while I was away? Hmm. Ok, so if I can get Ashley to drop this lawsuit and stay with L&B, you still want to direct this video?

Dillon: You'd really have me after what I just told you?

Ned: Of course. It's a glitch, a glitch, a glitch in the plan. It happens. What's important is I like you. You're a terrible liar, but I believe in you. You're smart, intuitive --

Dillon: Yeah, Ned, thank you. I --

Ned: And I'm not completely altruistic, because I plan on making a great deal of money off your talent. So I'll smooth things over with Ashley, and we'll just pick up where we left off -- if you're interested.

Dillon: Uh, yeah. Are you kidding?

Ned: Now, it's obvious that you're not too fond of our new talent.

Dillon: No, no, that's ok, that's ok. It doesn't matter. Ashley is a means to an end. You can count on me.

Ned: Excellent.

Dillon: Uh, we did actually manage to get some work done, though. Georgie came up with this really cool concept for the video. What am I thinking? You know, Georgie's the -- she's the only one with the talent. She's the brains behind this whole video. I can't do it without her. I can't.

Ned: Well, then, you'd better find a way to get her back on the project.

Dillon: How am i supposed to do that? Mac thinks I'm evil.

Ned: Well, then you'd better prove him wrong. Instead of sneaking around, you need to get your butt over there, you need to stand up to Mac, and you need to get his permission to see his daughter.

Georgie: How can you be so totally unfair? Dillon's dream is to be a director, and you undercut him in front of his star!

Mac: He obviously lied about his qualifications -- not that it surprises me.

Felicia: No, what is surprising is that you went along with it. You allowed Dillon to claim that you were a film student, too.

Mac: Proving -- proving that he is a bad influence. Georgie, Felicia and I have discussed this, and we both agree -- if you're caught with Dillon one more time, we're sending you to boarding school.

The scene fades out, then returns.

Georgie: I don't want any tea.

Felicia: Humor me. The herb tea will calm you down.

Georgie: Ok, how am I supposed to do that when my life is ruined and it's all because of my parents?

Felicia: You're not helping your case by being hysterical. And just arguing with Mac is going to convince him even more that you are not mature enough to make your own decisions.

Georgie: I have made so many more just better decisions than Maxie has ever made.

Felicia: That's why Mac's being so overprotective, Georgie. He doesn't want to see you hurt the way Maxie was.

Georgie: So you --

Felicia: She was devastated.

Georgie: So you agree with me that he is being completely unfair, right?

Felicia: Truthfully? I agree with Mac.

Georgie: Mom!

Felicia: Honey, I have never known you to lie and to sneak around the way you have. Obviously, Dillon's had an effect on you, and it's not a good one. The last thing we want to do is send you to boarding school, but if the alternative is to stand around and watch you make these bad choices, we have to take some drastic measures, Georgie.

Georgie: You guys just don't understand Dillon. I mean, he is not this -- this terrible person that you and Mac are convinced that he is. He is smart, funny, intelligent. And, mom, he loves me, truly.

Felicia: He's not acting like it. I need you to be truthful. I need you to just show me that you're trustworthy like the girl that I know that you are. Abide by Mac's and my decision. Stay away from Dillon.

Dillon: Ok, uh -- "commissioner scorpio, I come with you -- i come to you with respect to discuss my relation-- to honestly and openly discuss my relationship with your daughter" that's good. Ok. "I come to you with respect, honesty." Mr. Scorpio, i come to you with respect --

Mac: If you're here to ask for permission to marry Georgie, the answer is no.

Below is the 5/6/04 transcript in which Mac and Felicia allow Dillon to continue seeing Georgie.

Dillon: Commissioner scorpio, I come to you with respect to --

Mac: If you're here to ask permission to marry Georgie, the answer is no.

Dillon: No, I don't want to marry Georgie.

Mac: But then what do you want, Dillon?

Dillon: We're in love with each other, ok?

Mac: Raging hormones.

Dillon: No, no, no, no disrespect, but that's not the case, that's not the case.

Mac: We're finished here.

Dillon: Ok, I think maybe you should hear me out, because you're in danger of losing your daughter.

The scene fades out, then returns.

Mac: You're giving me advice on how to be a parent?

Dillon: No, I think you're an excellent parent.

Mac: And you have no respect for the truth, Dillon, let alone my little girl.

Dillon: I do respect your little girl. I'm in love with her.

Mac: Then leave her alone.

Dillon: I can't do that.

Georgie: Dad?

Felicia: Mac?

Mac: You've encouraged her to lie to her parents.

Georgie: Oh, excuse me, dad.

Dillon: It's not like that.

Mac: You're pressuring her to have sex.

Dillon: I don't think it's pressure. I think it's more of a mutual agreement.

Georgie: No, dad, you're squishing his face.

Mac: Good, good.

Felicia: You can open the door just a little bit.

Mac: What good would that do, Felicia?

Georgie: Can we please discuss this like rational human beings?

Mac: We're not discussing anything, Georgie.

Maxie: Hey, hey, hey, what is going on?

Georgie: He's trying to ruin my life.

Dillon: I think if you'd just give me one second to explain, I could probably do it justice --

Mac: You mean lie.

Georgie: Dad, I've made some mistakes, but it's nothing like what you think.

Dillon: Yeah, but we're in love with each other. That's the point.

Mac: You are a lying rich kid, and you wouldn't know love if it hit you on --

Felicia: Hey, wait a minute! I am still the mother here, and I have something to say.

The scene fades out, then returns.

Felicia: Leaving my daughters this past year was the hardest thing I ever did. My intentions were good, but I hurt everybody in the room, and i want to make it right, but that doesn't mean i'm going to allow my daughters to run amok.

Georgie: I love Dillon.

Dillon: I love Georgie.

Mac: You've made some bad decisions.

Maxie: Yeah, but compared to the stuff that I've done -- come on, dad.

Felicia: Mac and I need to be able to trust both you girls.

Mac: And trust has to be earned.

Georgie: Well, can you guys at least give us a chance to earn it?

Mac: Home by curfew, no exceptions, and a complete itinerary every time you step out that door.

Felicia: Mm-hmm, we need to know where you are at every hour.

Dillon: Is this, like 24/7?

Mac: You have a problem with this?

Dillon: No, no, no, no, not at all, no. I think, you know, most of the time my mom doesn't even know where i live, so --

Georgie: Don't remind them.

Dillon: Ok, sorry.

Felicia: This level of supervision is going to take some getting used to.

Georgie: Dillon's worth it.

Dillon: So is Georgie.

Maxie: Aren't they cute?

Felicia: So, do we have an agreement, then?

Georgie and Dillon: Yes.

Mac: We'll give it two weeks, then re-evaluate.

Felicia: Sounds good.

Dillon: Cool. Ok, ok. So may Georgie come to the studio tonight?

Mac: No. I want Georgie home for dinner tonight.

Felicia: But you're welcome to stay.

Dillon: Seriously?

Felicia: It's just chili from kelly's.

Dillon: Um -- thank you. I'm -- i'm, like -- I'm honored.

The scene fades out, then returns.

Georgie: The forks go on the left.

Dillon: Right. Ok. Forks on the left.

Georgie: Right. Under the napkin.

Dillon: That makes sense.

Georgie: Have you ever, ever set a table?

Dillon: No, not once, ever.

Georgie: Well, I'm really glad you stayed then, really.

Dillon: Thank you. I'm actually -- I'm supposed to be at my mom's engagement party right now, but --

Georgie: Is she really planning on marrying Jax?

Dillon: Yes, she's probably blackmailing him.

Georgie: Well, you know she's going to be furious if you don't go.

Dillon: I know. I'll show up. It's just first things first.

Mac: I know, all right.

Felicia: So burn yourself.

Mac: Dinner is served.

[All talk at once] Dillon: All right.

Maxie: Cheese for you.

Georgie: Well, thank you.

Dillon: It smells great.

Maxie: Yeah, it does.

Felicia: Well, thanks for joining our family for dinner tonight. Would you say grace?

Dillon: Grace? Ok. Um -- well, I'm sorry. Do people really do that?

The scene fades out, then returns.

Dillon: Are you sure that nobody wants the rest of this? Is it ok?

Felicia: No, that's ok. Go ahead.

Dillon: Are you sure?

Felicia: Have it.

Dillon: You didn't even have any. You're so --

Felicia: No, it's --

Maxie: Mom only eats salad.

Georgie: Wait a minute, wait a minute, do you remember that summer that she discovered chick peas?

Mac: Mmm. Mmm, mmm, mmm.

Maxie: You made us eat them, like, 500 times a day.

Georgie: I mean, they were so nasty.

Felicia: Chick peas are very nutritious. They have fiber and protein, folic acid --

Mac: But not as good as kelly's chili.

Maxie: Exactly.

Georgie: That's right.

Maxie: Especially with these chips.

Georgie: And lots and lots of grated cheese.

Mac: Mmm-mmm.

Felicia: Well, that's -- that's true. Kelly's chili is a family tradition.

Mac: Mmm-mmm.

Dillon: We have a tradition in our family. Actually, it's more of a sacred ritual, if you will. It's called cocktail hour. It's -- cocktail.
