Remembering Lila

The citizens of Port Charles are saddened to learn that beloved matriarch, Lila Quartermaine, has passed away in her sleep the night before. The Scorpio clan meet up at Kelly's Diner to reflect one Lila and celebrate their love as a family.

Below is the Scorpio part of the transcript.  You can read the full 7/14/04 transcript at my pal Suzanne's TV Megasite page.

Felicia: I was so blessed to know lila, to be able to spend all of that time with her and reliving her memories and hearing her stories and basking in her glow.

Lila: Learn from my mistakes, felicia. Hold on to all the mementos of your own past. They're more precious than you realize.

Felicia: I'll take that to heart. I'm learning a lot from writing your memoirs. I was in such awe of lila, not just because of all the things that she accomplished, but because of -- well, she was actually something to aspire to, you know, the way she lived her life with grace and with style. She also had a very wicked sense of humor, and it was always, always on her terms.

The scene fades out, then returns later.

Felicia: Even now lila's doing her magic. Look at us. We're all sitting here as a family enjoying each other, telling stories about her. Lila was a big believer in family.

Mac: Which is amazing, considering the sorry lot she ended up with.

Felicia: Mac stop it!

Mac: Well, felicia, it's true. I mean, they're all a bunch of cheating, scamming backbiters.

Georgie: Wait a minute -- with one notable exception.

Maxie: Yeah, and emily is pretty cool, too.

Mac: She's young yet. Give her time.

Felicia: Hmm. Well, I think that lila knew that her family wasn't perfect, but she still loved them very much, and she was there for them -- which is what I want for you. I want to be there for you the way she was there for her family. That's what I take from knowing lila quartermaine.

Mac: I think she'd be pleased.

Felicia: I love you all very much.

Maxie: We love you, too, mom.

Felicia: Oh.

The scene fades out, then returns later.

Georgie (digging into her ice cream): Mmm.

Felicia: Mmm.

Mac: Mmm.

Georgie: What's the significance?

Maxie: Yeah. Why strawberry? Not that i'm complaining here.

Felicia: It's very simple. It was lila's favorite ice cream. (She raises her spoon in a salute) To lila, one of the greatest ladies ever.

Maxie, georgie, mac (also raising their spoons): To lila.
