Robert & Anna Tell Robin Why They are Her Parents Continued

Anna (to Robin): "Well, you see, You're daddy knew nothing about you right up to before you found out that we were your parents."

Robert: "Why not?"  (She turns and looks at Robert)  "Why didn't you and mommy stay together?"

Anna: "It's a little complicated."

Robert: "Well, you see you're mother and I both had very dangerous jobs.  We were never sure from one moment to the next what might happen, so finally the pressure sort of just separated us."

Robin (To Anna): "Did you ever want to tell Daddy about me?"

Anna: "Many times."

Robin: "Why didn't you?"

Anna: "I'm not sure."

Robert: "So that she could protect you."

Robin (turning back to Robert): "From what?"

Robert: "Well you see, Mommy was scared that if the bad men that I was chasing every found out that you were my daughter, they might try to harm you."

Robin: "Like the bad men who stole my doll?"

Robert: "Uh, yeah.  Yeah.  SO she never said a word to me, even though she wanted to very badly.  That was the only way that she could keep you safe."

Robin: "I understand."  (She nods her head as there is a pause in the conversation)

Robert: "The first time I ever laid eyes on you, was when you were sitting in this living room right here.  I didn't even know who you were."

Robin: "I didn't know who you were either.  I just knew that I liked you."    (She puts her nose against his)

Robert: "And I like you too.  And you know what?  I would have loved you even if you hadn't turned out to be my daughter, but I'm certainly glad you are."

Robin: "Me too.  Snakebite."  (Robert nuzzles her neck with his face as she laughs)

Anna: "Well is everything okay now?"

Robert: "What really is important is that you're safe.  You know I could never go back to Australia if I wasn't happy with that."

Robin: "You have to go to Australia, right?"

Robert: "Yea."

Robert: "Why?  I've got to be with my wife, Holly."

Robin: "And I can come visit out on summer vacation?"

Robert (a large smile crosses his face): "Ah, of course you can. We both want you to come and visit us."

Robin: "I'd like that."

Robert: "Yeah, well...."

Robin: "If it's okay with Mommy."

Robert (looking over Robin at Anna): "I don't think Mommy will object."

Robin (in a sweet scared voice): "I don't want to loose you Daddy." (She tightly hugs him)

Robert (gently): "Hey.  Hey..come on.  Come one.  You don't think that I'd walk out of your life now?  Just after I found you? Hm.."

Robin (to Anna): "Is it alright if I go and visit Daddy when he goes away, some day?"

Anna: "Of course it is darling.  Yes, Of course.  I want you to spend some time over there."

Robert: "Then it's all settled.  You have an open invitation to come over and visit us anytime you like."

Robin: "You don't have to leave right away, do you?"

Robert: "No, first I have some unfinished business to take care of."

Robin: "What kind of business?"

Robert: "Ah.. I'm going to make sure that the Ancient One and his people realize their dream."

Robin: "Will it come true?"

Robert: "You know what?  I think it's started to already."  (He holds Robin close and kisses her on the cheek)
