Nap Time for Robin

Robert, Robin and Anna watching TV in Robert's livingroom...
Robin (to Robert who's pacing):  "How come you keep looking at your watch, Robbie?"

Robert: "I'm waiting for a call, darling."

Robin: "You didn't even watch the movie."

Robert: "Oh.  Well, I'll watch it now."

Anna: "Don't bother.  Somebody's getting very sleepy and it's finished anyway."  (She gets up and turns off TV)

Robin: "Will you take me up for a nap, Robbie?"

Robert: "Alright."  (He picks her up)

Anna: "Don't forget your doll."

Robert (handing her the doll): "There."
(Thoughtful pause as she looks up at Robbie, uh I mean Robert) Robin: "I didn't see him. The man in the pictures who pushed me."

Robert: "Don't worry.  We'll find him."

Robin: "When you do find him, I'm going to give him a big hit."  (She makes a fist, causing Robert and Anna to laugh)

Anna: "Look, I wouldn't think about that anymore.  You just go upstairs, go to sleep, and have sweet dreams." (They all walk over to the stairs.  Robert and Anna are holding Robin in between them-what a sight)

Robin: "Luv? Kiss Cindy."  (She holds her doll up)

Anna: "Good night, Cindy."  (She kisses Robin's doll)

Robin: "Now, Robbie."  (She holds her doll up for him)

Robert: "Good night, Cindy.  Good night, Robin."  (He kisses them both)

Robin (to Robert): "Now kiss Luv."

Anna (noticeably uncomfortable): "You're stalling, Robin."

Robin (ignoring her mother): "Please.  Kiss Luv, too, please."  (Robert kisses Anna on the cheek-both remain very tense-can you say sparks!!!)

Filomena (comes in from kitchen, where else?): "Come on. Come on.  I take you up to bed, eh?"

Robert: "Good night, darling."  (They go up stairs. Robert and Anna are left alone)

Anna: "Uh, sorry about that, you know...she can be quite persistent."

Robert: "So, I've noticed. She feels very secure. Obviously she knows how much she's loved."

Anna: "Yeah, she does."  (They stare at each other and smile)

Robert: "You've done a wonderful job with her."

Anna: "Thank you."

Robert: "When are you gonna tell her that you're her mother?"

Anna: "Oh, I don't... I don't know.  I can't risk it."

Robert: "What's to risk?"

Anna: "Oh come on, Robert.  I don't want her to know about my past."

Robert: "I've told you, Ballantine's not interested in your past or mine. The WSB are never gonna know that you were a traitor. The issue is dead."

Anna: "I suppose that I've lived with it for so long that I... I just can't quite believe that."

Robert: "Anna, you have nothing to fear.  Why not tell her?"

Anna: "Oh, I would really love to."  (A big smile on her face)  "I mean, my heart just aches to hear her call me mother."

Robert: "I know the feeling.  I'd like her to know who I am too."

Anna: "She'd be really happy to call you daddy."  (Her smile fades, she seems uncomfortable with the ease in which those words came out of her mouth)   "...Uh, to know you were her father."

Robert: "And to know she has a mother, like you, and a step-mother."  (Oh, her again? Sorry, Holly fans).  "Holly's gonna fall in love with her when they meet."

Anna: "Oh, so um, you're going to tell her about Robin?"

Robert: "Not until we know who's threatening her and why.  And when this mystery is over, you and I are gonna sit down and tell her everything."
