Set Up for Robin's Kidnapping

Robert sends Frisco into the Asian Quarter to work undercover in investigating Mr. Wu's organization.  He returns home still in disguise after secretly meeting with Frisco.  Anna opens
the door to find him drenched from the rainy weather.
Anna: "Oh boy."

Robert: "It's miserable out there."  (He starts removing disguise)

Anna: "Did you manage to see Frisco?  What does he want?  And what is it that Yank said that was so important?"

Robert (dreading to telling her): "Frisco has some new orders." 

Anna: "What are they?"

Robert: "Wu wants a further test of his loyalty."

Anna: "What more can he do?"

(He's near the closet. He turns away to hang his disguise and avoids eye contact with her) Robert: "Kidnap Robin."

Anna: "Well, that's it then, isn't it?  I suppose you might as well call Frisco back. The undercover game is over. We'll have to find some other way to get Wu."

Robert (short pause): "No."

Anna: "No?  Do you want them to kidnap your daughter?"

Robert: "If that's what it takes."

Anna: "Have you lost your mind?"

Robert: "Look Anna, just listen to me."

Anna (walking over to the couch): "Never!  I will not allow that!"

Robert (following her): "Look, nothing's gonna happen to Robin."

Anna: "How can you say that?  This is far too dangerous Robert!  I wouldn't let Mr. Wu put a finger on her!"

Robert: "Will you calm down!"

Anna: "Calm down?  You want me to hand my daughter over to murderers and you're telling me to calm down?"

Robert: "Frisco and I have a plan."

Anna: "I don't want to hear it.  Under no circumstances will I place my daughter in danger." (She walks away)

Robert: "She's my daughter too, damn it and you're gonna listen!"  (He grabs her and turns her towards him.  She tries to pull away but his grip is firm)   "Anna, please sit down."  (She does)  "Alright, listen.   This is the plan for the kidnapping.  Robin will be taken outside at the hospital on one of her visits to the pediatric ward to play with the children.  Frisco will grab her, but I'll bring you by in case anything goes wrong."

Anna: "What do you mean?"

Robert: "Nothing will go wrong because you and some Green Shirts (referring to peaceful band of young Asians) will show up and simply take her back."

Anna: "And what if we fail?"

Robert: "You won't.  Frisco will see to that."

Anna: "Is this gonna work, Robert?"

Robert: "Why shouldn't it?"

Anna: "Don't ask."

Robert: "Frisco will have proven his loyalty to Kim and Wu and when the dust settles, we'll have her back."

Anna: "Well, I don't like it.  Why can't I just take Robin away from here?"

Robert: "Because you wouldn't get to the street corner before Wu found out about it."

Anna: "Why?  What does he want from us?"

Robert: "Yank told me earlier that there are two very valuable black pearls hidden within the jade buddhas.  Wu is convinced that you and I have stolen them."  

(Anna closes her eyes as she comes to a realization)  Anna: "Those jade buddhas!"

Robert: "That's why he's threatening Robin to get to us."

Anna (gets up angrily): "You see, it's all my fault!  It's all my fault!"   (She paces with worry)

Robert: "Don't be ridiculous."

Anna: "I placed those buddha's on Holly right in this very room.  I mean, I set up my own daughter!!"

Robert:  "We have no way of knowing."

Anna: "Robert!  I'm directly responsible for having placed my daughter in danger."  (She stands in front of him to face him)  "There's no choice here.  We have to get her out of Port Charles now!"

Robert: "No.  No, this changes nothing."

Anna: "Yes it does Robert, because it means that Mr. Wu is prepared to do more than just threaten her."

Robert: "All the more reason to go ahead with this phony kidnapping.  Frisco's got to convince Wu and Kim that he's one of them.  Otherwise, we've got no way of possibly implacating Wu in Josh's murder."  (FYI-Josh was a friend of Frisco's killed accidentally in Frisco's place)  "Not to mention the fact of getting Donely back behind bars."

Anna: "At what risk, Robert?  Robin's life?"

Robert: "She'll be safe.  Do you think I would suggest a plan like this if I thought that there was a hope in hell of something going wrong?  This is my one way of making sure that she's gonna be safe and end this whole miserable business forever."  (Anna shakes her head)  "We make the plan. Then Robin is safe, and we protect Frisco because if he doesn't obey orders... they're gonna kill him."  (Anna walks away to think)
