Anna Knocks Robert Out

Robert ready to go on a dangerous mission in the Asian Quarter to rescue Frisco from Wu's men who are suspicious of his loyalty.

Robert (in serious thought): "Anna?"

Anna: "Yes."

Robert: "If something were to happen, you are going to tell Robin I was her father."

Anna: "I haven't really worked that out yet."  (She sits near him)   "I want to be very careful where Robin's concerned. I don't want to make a mistake. I've made too many mistakes in my own life."

Robert: "You never make mistakes where she's concerned."  (He smiles.)  "You love her too much."

Anna: "One of my biggest mistakes was ever being a double agent."

Robert: "It's over."

Anna: "No, it's not because it's made me scared. It's made me scared for my future. It's made me scared to tell her that I'm her mother and that I love her more than anything...and more."

Robert: "What else?"

Anna: "I nearly deprived you of having ever known that you had a daughter."

Robert: "Well, I know the reason for that is because of Holly."

Anna: "I want you and Holly to be very happy in Australia."

Robert: "I know you do and there's no problem there.  As a matter of fact, she wants Robin to join us when I go back with her."  (He sees the look on Anna's face and smiles.)  "Just for visits of course."

Anna: "All this would be possible if we'd just told Robin about us."  (She pauses.) " She really wants Robin to go back with you?"

Robert: "You should read her letters.  Filled with questions about Robin. Telephone calls. All she wants to talk about is Robin."

Anna (wheels turning in her brain): "That would be perfect for you wouldn't it?"

Robert: "Yeah."  (He pauses,  looks at his watch.)  "Well, time's up. Time for us to go our separate ways, darling." (As he gets up Anna knocks him out in order to take his place in the mission)

Anna:  "Sorry Robert.  I want the three of you to be very happy in Australia."  (She cuffs him and drags his unconscious form behind the bar.   She touches his hair and leans over him.  She's very emotional, yet determined) "Forgive me Robert.  But I have to be certain that Robin at least has one parent alive...."
