Okay, the Asian Quarter story ended on a
nice note I'd say. And now I'll be taking you into a downward spiral-LOL. Whatever
progress was made between Robert and Anna in the Asian Quarter, I'm now smashing to pieces
by heading backwards into the Aztec treasure story. I'm starting it from Anna's first day,
and when I first started posting, I had actually posted some scenes from this story. So if
anyone needs recaps and they're no longer on here, let me know. Actually MinaL has a lot
of my old transcripts on her site so that should keep you up to date. Otherwise, enjoy
today's vigil. Robert: "Excuse me. I'm commissioner Scorpio. You called me earlier."
Robert: "You said there was a friend of mine who wanted to buy me a drink. Uh, I don't see him anywhere." Bartender: "You'll see your friend in a moment, sir. May I get you a drink?" Robert: "I think the best thing for me to have would be a club soda." Bartender: "Coming right up,
sir." Robert: "Anna?" Anna: "Hello Robert." Robert: "I can't believe it." Anna: "I didn't think you'd see me. That's why I asked the bartender to say it was a friend from the past." Robert: "You haven't changed much." Anna: "You have. You're losing your Australian accent. That's a shame." Robert: "They told me you left the country." Anna: "Oh. An old WSB trick." Robert: "What do you want from me?" Anna: "Just a drink together...for old time sake." Robert: "I don't believe you." Anna: "Oh, still so on guard. So suspicious." Robert: "You see, I know you. No man ever knew you better." Anna: "The male ego. Well, it turned out you didn't know me at all, didn't it? " Robert: "I should have left you to die when I found out what you were." Anna (ashamed): "Yes. You should have. But you didn't, did you? Why don't we drink to that." (she raises her glass) The scene fades out, returns later. Robert: "No you shouldn't have." Anna: "I saw your picture in the paper." Robert: "And you just couldn't help yourself." Anna: "Robert, I never meant to hurt you." Robert: "Still playing games? Stay out of my life Anna." Anna: "Why? Are you afraid of me Robert?" Robert: "Get out of here before someone sees us together." Anna: "What is the harm? Just two old friends having a drink together." Robert: "You want something? Out with it." Anna: "Alright." (She pauses) "I came here to warn you." (Robert starts to get up and leave) "Listen! You're being deceived a second time by a person you love. (He just stares at her and she sees she's getting nowhere) I guess I shouldn't have wasted my time. I should have known better." Robert: "That's right. You should have. Cause there's no way I would believe anything you told me." Anna: "Look, I still care very much about you. If you ever loved me, you would know." Robert (outraged): "If I ever loved you? *IF* I ever loved you?" Anna: "Robert, people are staring." Robert: "No dear, they're staring at you. The men that is. But then again, they always did, didn't they?" Anna (arrogantly): "Well yes. Still so noble and self-righteous aren't we? Everything black and white, never gray. Oh what a fool I was to risk coming here." Robert: "Why did you betray me?" Anna: "Does is still matter?" Robert: "It did once. Mattered more than life itself." Anna: "Oh Robert. This is a very special evening for you. I didn't mean to spoil it." Robert: "You couldn't." Anna: "We've said so many cruel words to each other." Robert: "Honest words." Anna: "So much hatred." Robert: "Answer me one question. Was it another man?" Anna: Of course. (big smile) Isn't that what you want to hear? Robert: "I don't believe you." Anna: Yes, well you know how it is for women like I. We go for the highest bidder. Don't we. In war and love." Robert: "Look me in the eye." (pause) "Tell me it was another man." Anna (shakes her head): "I lied. I sold out for the money the way I always did. Oh, I loved you more that I could love any man. Now get out of here before we both say things we won't mean in the morning." Robert slowly gets up, throws money at her for the drinks, and leaves. |
