Robert Didn't
Send the Flower
After receiving a mysterious red orchid at lunch, Anna's
spooked the rest of the day while last minute shopping with Robin. The two are picking out
flowers for the wedding and shopping for Anna's honeymoon, but Anna keeps feeling like
someone's watching her. When Robin asks why she's feeling so weird, Anna says she
can't explain, but under her breath, remarks it "feels like someone just walked over
my grave." Later that day, Anna goes to Robert's office, and still holding the
bags of purchases, listens unnoticed while he's talking on the phone.
Robert (on the phone, with back to door): "...that's what friends are for, bye bye." (he hangs up the phone, then notices Anna watching him, and he gives her an intense look) "How long have you been standing there?"
Anna (looking apprehensive, thinking he's arranging their honeymoon): "Are we going camping, Robert?"
Robert (gets up and comes over to her): "Tanganeeva hit town, just kind of melded out of the woodwork. Wants Mac and me to meet him tonight for a campfire."
Anna (looking relieved, puts down the bags): "Oh, how nice. A brotherly ritual."
Robert (smiling that she understands): "Well, some people don't always understand the mystical beauty of the aboriginal people."
Anna: "Or Tanganeeva."
Robert: "But then I'm marrying one in a million." (he tries to kiss her, but she won't let him)
Anna (teasing him): "Uh uh. We're waiting, aren't we?"
Robert: "Um." (he clears his throat) "I am brutually honest about our relationship and want to be 100% honest about it."
Anna: "Yes, I agree."
Robert: "But, I have to tell you that uh.... on the evening of our wedding..."
Anna (interrupting): "Tomorrow night, you mean?"
Robert: "Yeah. You are in so much trouble. I...."
Anna (smiling): "So are you."
Robert (laughs): "I sure hope so."
Anna: "So do I." (he pulls her into his arms and kisses her cheek) "Is that why you sent a flower?"
Robert (confused): "Um, what flower?"
Anna (going over to one of the bags, pulls out the red orchid): "This one. How did you know where I was having lunch? Or is that because Tanganeeva is in town?"
Robert (takes the flower and examines it): "Beautiful, exotic. Wish I had sent it."
Anna (visibly shaken): "You didn't, really?"
Robert: "I'd love to take credit for something I didn't think of, but maybe it was just sent to the wrong beautiful lady?"
Anna (trying to hide that she's upset): "Yes, well come man brought it in and said someone outside had given it to him to give to me, and I had assumed it was you."
Robert (not noticing she's upset): "Nope."
Anna: "No. Um, I guess it was just a mistake."
Robert: "Yeah, I guess."
Anna (changes the subject): "Uh, Olin can't make the wedding."
Robert: "Why not?"
Anna: "It's her brother, Kim."
Robert: "The one in Fresno?"
Anna: "Yeah, he's sick."
Robert (suddenly realizing that someone else had sent his fiancee a flower, pulls her into his arms): "Listen, on the subject of the flower, is there an admirer I don't know about, maybe someone I should be jealous of?"
Anna (smiles up at him): "You should always be jealous, it's just good manners."
Robert (laughs): "I love you." (hugs her, laughing)
