Anna and Cesar argue about his obsession with their past
Anna's upstairs with an ailing Casey when Brenner, the bodyguard, enters and tell her that Cesar wants her to join him for dinner and to wear a green, crushed velvet gown.  Furious, she grabs the gown and storms down the stairs to tell him off.  Cesar, who's been watching her on the hidden tv monitor, moves to a wing chair and waits for her.  Entering, she rushes up to him and throws the dress at him, then marches back and forth angrily.

Cesar (with his signature cigar in one hand): "What's the matter?  Don't you like the style?  The color?  What?"

Anna: "What!  You think I want to get into your fantasizes?"

Cesar (testing her):  "Oh.  I was afraid you wouldn't recognize it."

Anna:  Of course I do.  Doesn't 'She' wear it in this book?"  (she picks up his novel, The Crystalline Conspiracy)

Cesar (pleased, he stands up, still holding the dress): "Exactly.  Davnee was modeled after you, so I assumed you would like it."

Anna: "She doesn't exist, Faison.  She died when I left the DVX, remember?"

Cesar: "The day you left the DVX was the day I learned there was another man in your life."

Anna (smirks): "Can't you even say his name?  What, Robert?"

Cesar (disdainfully): "Robert." 

Anna: "Would you have killed him if I hadn't done that last job?"

Cesar: "That's not the point, Anna.  You did it, and I kept my promise.  Robert is alive.   But you and I are together finally, out for the greatest adventure in our lives."

Anna: "What makes you think I want to get involved in something with you?"

Cesar: "Because it's true."  (he goes over to his desk and picks up the script for his next novel)  "It's all written down here.  It's all here Anna, in the final part of my triology, it's all here."  (he puts down the script and shows her the mock up for the next novel)  "Anna, here you are."  (Anna stares dumbfounded at the mock up, which has a drawing of her in the center)

The scene fades out to commercial, then back.  Anna's seated in a wing chair, closing the script after Cesar lets her read some of the pages.

Cesar: "Well, it makes me happy you at least took a glance at it."  (he pries it from her clutching hands)  "Well, what do you think?  I would like to have your opinion."

Anna (staring at the script sitting on his desk): "You have a vivid imagination."

Cesar (shaking his finger at her): "It's no imagination.  It's memories, shared experiences we had together, Anna.  That's what it is." 

Anna (trying to change the subject): "Do you really believe that stuff about the crystal."

Cesar: "I don't want to talk about that right now.  Let's talk about us.   It's so seldom I get to talk about the past."

Anna (defensively): "I don't want to talk about it.  I did everything I could to forget about it, and I have.  You see, as far as I'm concerned, none of those things ever happened."

Cesar: "But they di, Anna.  They did!"  (he begins walking around her, ranting on)  "And they are as real to me as if it happened yesterday.  I've been remembering thirteen years.  Dreaming, dreaming, Anna, about the day when we could finally close the final chapter."

Anna: "We did that."

Cesar: "No, no, no.. That was volume 1.  Volume 2 was interrupted by Robert Scorpio, a character that never should have been in here.  I don't know how it happened, but he will never come between us again.  Believe me, his is gone.   Anna, now, now, you and I are so near... so near to closing volume 3.  We are so near."

Anna: "What do you want me to do?"

Cesar (caresses her face with his hand): "What do you imagine, Anna?"

Anna: "All right. Casey, what's gonna happen to him?  Is he gonna live or die?"

Cesar (shaking his head): "I don't know, I don't know.  It's all up to you."   (they stare at each other)

The scene fades out to commercial, then back. 

Cesar: "Don't you see Anna, this is where our relationship has lead to."

Anna: "We had a business relationship.  I mean, that ended when I left you."

Cesar: "No, no, we've been together all the time.  You've been with me all the way.  I've told the world about you (referring to his novels).  There are countless, millions of readers waiting out there, holding they're breath.  They want to know, they want to live your next adventure."

Anna: "What happens?  What happens in the end?"

Cesar: "We're together, Anna."  (he brushes past her, and picks up the script)  "We're invincible, in print and in fact.  Anna, we are going to rule the world."  (she smiles at him, astonished at his arrogance)   "Do you understand that?

Anna (picking up the small globe on his desk, smirks): "This?"  (she laughs)   "This."

Cesar (reaching for the globe): "No one could ever control you, could they?

Anna (gritting her teeth):  "No, I don't think so."

Cesar (staring hard at her): "I can."

Anna: "No, uh uh."

Cesar: "Yes, I can."

Anna: "No, you know why?  Because I know you too well, that's why."

Cesar: "If that's the case, Anna, why do you underestimate me then?"

Anna: "Because you're a liar."

Cesar: "No."

Anna: "You don't have this power."  (she shakes her head)  "Uh uh."  (she starts to walk away)

Cesar (grabbing her arm to stop her): "Anna, if I show you the crystal...."

Anna: "I've seem them."

Cesar: "Not all of them.  I have another one."  (she pulls her hand away, staring at him defiantely)  "Once you've seen the crystal completed, assembled, you'll belive."  (he carresses her cheeck with one finger)   "Yes."  (he goes over to the intercom)  "Brenner, bring in my latest acquisition."

The scene fades out.   When he does assemble the crystal, he doesn't realize there's a sliver missing, and the unstable crystal knocks everyone on the island unconscious, except for Casey.  All the power on the island as well as the mainland blacks out as well.
