It's 1990 and the mysterious P. K. Sinclair (really Cesar Faison) is thinking about Anna and their past.... |

Cesar: "Once you join the DVX, there's no way out. I want you to understand that." Anna (twists to her right and looks up at him defiantly): "I do as I please." Cesar (nodding his head solemnly): "But you will remember what I said." Anna (sarcastically): "Is that my first order?" Cesar: "No. This is." (He slips her a note, but doesn't look her. He's worried about how she'll react.) Anna (reads the note and gets up, confused): "I don't understand. I've always worked alone. I've never had a partner." Cesar (walks closer to her, staring intently at her face): "Now you do. I'll be your partner." Anna (suspicious): "You're far too important for field work." Cesar: "I'm so important I do as I please." Anna: "This could be a mistake." Cesar: "On the contrary, together, Anna..." (he puts his hands up to cup her face but stops when she pulls back slightly) "...we'll be invincable." (He then motions her forward and slips his hand behind her back to usher her on.) |

Cesar and Anna Become Partners
Cesar: "Waiting....."
(The scene fades out into a flashback to 1977 or 1978 when Anna recently has joined
the DVX. It's a foggy night, possibly in France, and both he and Anna are dressed in
dark clothing. She's sitting on a park bench, her head wrapped in a
scarf. Standing behind her, he's watches her intently.)
