Sean and Mac's
Toasts to the Newlyweds (7/28/91)
*excerpt from Gary Warner's Love, Honor and
Cherish, 1998
Sean Donely's toast: "Unaccustomed
as I am to public speaking, today I must make an exception. That's because my best
friend... my long-time buddy... a man that I cherish and always will... got married today.
To a lovely lady I've also known for a very long time. To Robert and Anna... a long and
happy life. This has been a long time in coming." (To Robert) "Let me tell you
something, buddy, it was worth waiting for!"
Mac's 'Best Man' toast: "As Robert's brother, I want to propose a toast- to Anna. You know better than anyone what you're getting into to. I mean, I grew up with Robert. He was not an easy boy to live with. So, folks, don't think- now that he's matured- it'll be a romp in the surf. It's not that he's not easy. It's that he's... difficult. Or to put it another way... he's impossible!
Robert: "With friends like these..."
Mac: "Anna, however, seems to have a rather amazing effect on my brother. Softened him up a bit... turned him into a guy that even a brother can love." (Turns back to Robert) "And I do love you, Robert. You, too, Anna. Congratulations!"
