Sean's Confession
Sean's recovering from a bullet wound at GH after throwing himself in front of Robin to protect her from a gun-totting Desiree. Now that both of his best friends know that Faison's alive, a guilt-ridden Sean prepares to confess his part in the destruction of their marriage. 

Arriving at Sean's room, the duo find the bed empty, so they go to Monica's office.

Robert (pushing the door open): "Where's Sean?"

Monica: "Hey now, calm down."

Anna: "We were just in ICU and he wasn't there."

Robert: "And none of the nurses seem to know what happened to him.

Monica: "Well, if you give me a moment I'll explain.

Robert (interrupting): "Monica, let me warn you, if you help him pull a fast one there's going to be hell to pay."

The scene fades out, then returns. Monica, Robert and Anna are walking down in the hospital hallway.

Monica: "Sean asked me to move him out of ICU."

Robert: "Why?"

Monica: "He said he wanted privacy just to talk to the two of you. 

Robert: "Is it common around here for the tail to wag the dog?"

Monica: "Robert, first of all it wasn't necessary for Sean to be in ICU. He was out of danger." (getting angry) "And second of all, it isn't necessary for YOU to use that tone of voice with me."

Anna: "Monica, you've helped Sean to get out of a tight situations before."

Monica: "Oh, I didn't realize this was another one."

Anna: "And what were you doing at the bank today? Olin said she saw you there."

Monica: "I was doing something for Sean."

Robert: "You care to tell us what?"

Monica (exasperated): "All right, I was withdrawing some money for him. It was not enough money for him to flee the country if that's what you're worried about!"

Robert (looking briefly at Anna before turning back to Monica): "Look, I don't mean to jump down your throat but the point is..."

Monica (interrupting): "Obviously there is something going on with the three of you and I'm not asking any questions but I just hope it's resolved."

Anna (looking at Robert): "We're going to do that now."

Monica: "Well good. And don't tire him out. He's very weak." (she leaves and they enter the room to find Sean sitting up in bed, waiting for them)

Sean: "Welcome." (They come in and over to the bed)

Robert: "Good to hear you got your voice back."

Sean: "Yeah, I heard yours loud and clear in the hall."

Robert (throwing his hands up): "Alright, what little game are we up to now?"

Sean (looking at Robert then Anna): "No more games my friends, no more games." (He lifts the bag off his lap to reveal coins)

Anna (stunned): "The thirty pieces."

Sean: "Right."

Robert: "What's all this?"

Sean: "You know what it is. The WSB symbol for betrayal."

Robert (harshly): "That was all over in Bay C."

Sean: "No.

Anna: "Yes it was. We each took responsibility for what we'd done.

Sean: "Right. It's time we set the record straight though, because this time.." (he picks up some of the coins) "...all the pieces belong to me." (Robert and Anna stare at the coins Sean is holding up)

The scene fades out, then returns.

Robert: "Now..." (he walks over to the head of the bed, Anna moving to Robert's side) "I assume this refers to your current relationship with Faison."

Sean (trying to catch his breath): "Partially."

Anna: "Why didn't you tell us that you had a deal going with him?"

Sean: "This isn't just about the Wellington Collection."

Robert: "But you knew that the last part of the crystal was in the dog."

Sean: "No, no I didn't. All I knew..."

Robert: "Why him?"

Sean: "All I knew was that Faison wanted it."

Robert (getting angrier by the minute): "Why him? Why did you make an ally of yourself with him of all people?"

Anna: "You knew what he had on me. Because of what you were doing, you risked my daughter's life, Sean!"

Sean: "I didn't think it would get this far." (he gasps for breath) "And Robin is my godchild, I love her very much."

Robert: "Obviously not enough to walk away from whatever it is that Faison had to offer."

Sean (lightly shaking his head): "That's not true. I was trying to protect all of you."

Robert: "By working with him?"

Sean: "I didn't have a choice."

Anna: "Oh, I thought I was the only one to compromise myself around here, I didn't expect it from you."

Sean: "I wanted you to know the truth."

Robert: "So why not just tell us?"

Sean: "I was hoping I could pull it off by myself, that's why."

Anna: "But you could see what it was doing to us Sean. You just stood by and let it happen."

Sean: "I'm sorry. I'm sorry you had to go through what you went through. Don't you realize what Robert and you mean to me? You're my friends."

Robert: "Friends trust each other." (Turns his back to Sean and Anna almost touches him but stops)

Sean: "Sometimes too much."

Robert (coming back to the bed): "Oh, come on. Look, let's get to the point here, alright! These three people have gone through enough secrets together in the past."

Sean: "It's about time you knew the truth about my secrets." (long pause as he tries to get the courage to continue) "These are things I didn't tell you in Bay C."

Anna (sharply): "What do you mean?"

Sean (tear running down his cheek): "When you two came to me and admitted that you were the double agent and not Swede, I acted surprised, didn't I? But I wasn't."

Robert (moving closer to Anna): "What are you saying?"

Sean: "What do you think I'm saying?"

Anna: "You knew all along I was a double agent?"

Sean: "Yes." (Anna moves away from the bed this time, upset, while Robert move forward to the head of the bed) "There's more...I also knew that you and Robert were married."

Robert (horsely): "What!"

Sean: It couldn't stay that way, it was against the rules. So, I needed a plan. That's where Faison came into the picture.

Anna: "How?

Sean: You both think that my...my alliance with Faison started here in Port Charles. You're wrong. I made an alliance with him thirteen years ago. That's when I didn't tell you all the truth."

The scene fades out, then returns. Robert moves to the foot of the bed and Anna to the head of the bed.
Anna: "Okay Sean, so you knew that we were married."

Sean: Yeah, an agent that I was running in Italy at the time..."

Robert (interrupting): "You knew the rules. You knew that agents don't marry. Why didn't you say anything?"

Sean (eyes closed, unable to look at them): "Yeah, I knew the rules, but I didn't care. You were my best two agents and I needed you. But before I say anything else, you've got to to remember that we were all different then, especially me." (opening his eyes to look at them) "I had no understanding of what a commitment, a real commitment meant to a woman, how you could love one woman. All I loved was the WSB."

Robert: "What does this have to do with us?

Sean (eyes closed again): "I broke up your marriage."

Anna: "No you didn't...no you didn't. It was when he found out I was a double agent, it was over then. It wasn't you."

Sean (looking at Anna, tears in his eyes): "No, I set Robert up. I set him up to find out. I set both of you up."

Robert (stunned, moves forward): "What!"

Anna (gasping): "What!"

Sean: "I needed you. You were my best agents. I couldn't afford to lose you." (Anna looks up at Robert but he's unable to look at either her or Sean)

Robert: "What happened?"

Sean: I found out that Anna was playing both sides of the fence, working for me and Faison."

Robert: "Wait a minute, wait a minute." (he glances at Anna for a second) "Now you sent me out to find a double agent... a double agent... and you knew all along that it was Anna?"

Sean: "Right."

Anna: "You knew that would destroy us, didn't you?"

Sean (trying not to cry): "Yes. I didn't care. I wanted you back. I needed you both together. So I was willing to do just about anything to... accomplish that. That's where Faison... and I, we made a deal."

Anna: "You made a deal with him for me?"

Sean: "Yeah. In exchange for you, I gave him a way out. I arranged for his fake death certificate... and something else too. I agreed to get him a file, the same file he used for his research on the Lumina crystal."

Robert (bent over): "The missing air force file."

Sean: "Right."

Anna (softly): "Oh God. Sean, I thought I knew you."

Robert (unable to look at either of them, upset): "The Swede....The Swede....I accused him....of being a double agent to save Anna."

Anna (gripping Robert's arm): "You knew we were lying. You let an innocent man die because of us?"

Sean (shaking his head): "He didn't die." (Robert looks at him sharply)

Anna: "He's alive somewhere?" 

Sean: "Yeah, I got him a new identity..."

Robert: "All these years." (furious) "All these years you've let us....how....how could you do that? How could you do that!"

Sean: "I told you, in those days, I didn't know what true romantic love really was. I... I didn't know that real love could change a person." (pauses) "I didn't realize that you two... were really meant to be together."

Anna: "But you didn't give us that chance. Sean, you've let me think that it was my fault, all these years, that I destroyed our marriage. You let me think that all these years!"

Sean: "I couldn't lose you both....I couldn't lose you both...."

Robert: "Eight years.." (Anna looks at Robert) "Eeght years I had a daughter, and I didn't even know about it....eight years."

Sean: "I not only destroyed your marriage, I destroyed your family. I don't know what I can do to ever make that up to you."

Robert (glaring at Sean): "Neither do I! As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing you can do!" (walks away and props himself facing the wall. Sean and Anna stare at one another)

The scene fades out, then returns.
Sean (touching his head briefly): This medication, it's making me, uh, weepy, I'm beginning to fade."

Anna (coming back to the head): "Sean, iIf Faison hadn't come to town, would you have told us any of this?

Sean (not looking at her): "Probably not.

Robert (coming back to the bed): "But you would've continued to let us think that we sent any innocent man to his death

Sean: "But you didn't, the Swede's alive.

Robert: "But we only found that out twenty minutes ago.

Sean: "But he's alive. Now I know it's not easy, but let me ask you something, both of you. If you were in my place, what would you have done?" (Robert and Anna stare off, then he glances briefly at her as she turns away)

Anna: "I can't answer that." (She moves to the foot of the bed, turns to face him and lightly shakes her head)

Sean: "You probably both would've stayed together." (Robert stares into space with an angry expression on his face) "You lost 13 years because of me. You know, you two really had something special." (Anna begins nodding her head, trying not to cry) "Something that only comes along once in a lifetime." (Robert and Anna look at one another) "I took it away from you, didn't I?"

Robert: "Well, I don't know. I mean, I guess it worked out."

Sean (eyes closed tightly): "No, because of me, it really didn't, did it? Everything went haywire."

Anna: "Who knows? I mean, maybe... maybe the marriage wouldn't have worked out anyway."

Sean: I don't know, there's a pretty good chance it would've worked. But you know, it's funny... everything that's happened, the three of us, all those years... but the two of you... it stayed...it stayed, it hung there. No matter what went on, there is nothing that could break you two apart, nothing." (he looks at them, then turns away, eyes closed) "And if it wasn't for my obsessive attention to duty, you two would've spent your lives together."

The scene fades out, then returns.

(Monica interrupts the group by entering the room and placing a bouquet of flowers on the table by Sean's head) Monica: "Sean, these flowers came for you from the writer, P.K. Sinclair." (She hands Sean the card, as Robert and Anna look at each.)

Sean: "What are you playing candy striper now, huh?" 

Monica: "No, I'm not, I'm playing concerned doctor. (she turns to Robert and Anna) "He really needs to get his rest."

Robert: "We'll be leaving in a minute."

Anna: "Yeah."

Monica: "Good." (She leaves the tension filled room)

Sean (handing the card to Robert.): "Read it."

Rober (reading from the card aloud with Anna looking over his shoulder): "With every confidence there will be no unforseen obstacles in your path to recovery. From one who's been to death's door and beyond."

Anna (to Robert): "This means it's not over. We've got to get something on this man.

Robert: "Oh, we will.

Sean: "Look, if it means anything to either one of you, as soon as I'm up and around, I'll do everything I can to help you get rid of..."

Robert (ignoring Sean, to Anna): "Let's go."

Sean (to their backs): "I'm sorry." 

(Robert and Anna pause in the doorway. Anna looks at him, Robert keeps his back to him, then they slowly move to leave. Outside, Anna collaspses herself against the wall, Robert beside her. They take each other's hand as he leans against her. Then they move away.)

Robert (hand on her back as they walk away): "I uh, oh, Look I don't know about you...um...  I think um" (Anna touches his stomach) "I don't know what I think."

Katherine (walks up behind them): "Hi! Hey you two."

Robert: "Katie." (he goes over to give her a kiss)

Katherine (walks up behind them): "How's sean?"

Robert: "Um, he's uh.." (he glances over at Anna)

Anna (not looking at either of them): "Hi. He's okay." (They walk around the kiosk, Robert with his arm around Katherine)

Katherine: "Did I miss something?"

Robert: "No, no, you're timing couldn't be better. Look, you and I... dinner tonight just the two of us." (Katherine notices Anna's strange behavior and stares at her as Robert continues talking to her) 

Katherine: "Well, I've got to a lot of things.." 

Robert: "Please." (she and Robert murmur something to one another and then they knock Anna into the kiosk as they start to walk away) 

Robert: "Anna, um listen... there's a plain clothesman

Anna: "That's fine. I'll... I'm going to call Robin and uh..."

Robert (trying to get out of the hospital as soon as possible, reaches for the elevator buttons, then say to Anna): "Get some rest, will you?"

Anna: "Robin and I.." (She turns and walks away, then stops and leans against the kiosk)

Robert:

Katherine (to Robert): "What happened?"

Robert (puttin his hands on her shoulder): "We're a little upset about something we found out."

Katherine: "What?"

Robert: "that I haven't been telling you often enough about how much you mean to me."

Katherine (smiling as Anna watches them in the background): "No you haven't."

Robert (taking her in his arms): "Well, I think I'd like to do that right now." (He and Anna stare at one another before he and Katherine get into the elevator to leave)
