Romance at Serenity
After a few weeks of worrying, Anna
finally locates Robert, and Mac wanders off as the reunited couple ignore him to kiss and
catch up. The brothers are currently on the run from the local sheriff for the
murder of Rory, a hitman who tried to kill them both, and Anna's rental car has
overheated. Also, Robert's still weak from his gunshot wound, so the trio need a place to
stay the night and hide out while Anna's car cools off. Wandering over to a nearby
mansion, Mac meets the owner, a young lady named Dominique. Both she and Mac are
immediately smitten with one another. Robert and Anna then join them. Dom
tells them she has no phone, but invites them to stay at her beautiful estate called
Serenity. Leading them upstairs, Dom takes them into the large room Robert and Anna
will be staying in.
Dominique: "I think you'll both be comfortable here." (Robert and Anna laugh, impressed by the large and luxurious room.)
Anna: "Yes. Uh, yes. I mean, this whole house is so beautiful and this room lovely." (Robert nods in agreement)
Dom (smiles): "Oh, this used to be my mother's sitting room. I uh.... oh there's a private bath through there if you'd like to freshen up a bit later on."
Robert (slyly to Anna): "Yes, I'd like to get fresh, wouldn't you dear?"
Anna (embarrassed, ignores him): "Oh, thank you so much. You're very brave taking in strangers quite as strange as us."
Dom: "Oh, my father always said I had a pretty good instinct about people. And Ms. Perry is always doing everything for me, so it's nice doing something for someone else for a change."
Mac (staring at Dom like a love-struck puppy): "You're like a angel from heaven."
Dom (slightly embarrassed): "Oh, I wouldn't go that far. I usually like to take a stroll outside to see the sunset before dinner would you like to join me?" (She and Mac stare at one another, ignoring Robert and Anna)
Mac: "You lead, I'll follow."
Dom: "Okay." (She exits the room with Mac following her)
Robert (calling to Mac before he shuts the door behind him): "Don't get lost, bro." (Mac points at him, then leaves)
Anna (referring to the smitten Dom and Mac): "Oohh! I hear harps." (She takes off her coat)
Robert (looking around): "Hmm. Not bad for a weekend." (He sits on the bed and Anna comes up and stands before him)
Anna: "What a fabulous place." (She points to the painting above the bed) "Look at that painting."
Robert (not taking his eyes off her, slips his arms around her waist to lift her off the ground and lays her on the bed): "Look at the company."
Anna (putting her arms around his neck): "Hi, you."
Robert: "Hmm." (They kiss, but then Anna breaks the mood by smacking his arm hard, causing him to move back startled)
Anna: "Why didn't you tell me where you were going? I mean, what was I supposed to think, I was worried sick."
Robert (kissing her again): "Now, now, my note was very specific. It said, and I remember, 'see you soon.'" (He gives her another kiss, after which she pushes him off her and sits up on the bed)
Anna:
"Oh yes. See you soon. What's that suppose to mean, in this lifetime or
the next time? I didn't know if you were with somebody, I didn't know if you were
after somebody, I didn't know if someone was after you...."
(Robert interrupts by grabbing her hand and starts sucking on one of her fingers, giving
her a come hither look. She closes her eyes and smiles)
Robert: "I want to see you say that again..." (he surprises her by grabbing her waist and pulling her back down on the bed) "... as I'm doing this." (they start kissing again)
Anna (while he's kissing her neck): "Seriously though, you have to trust me, Robert. You should have trusted me."
Robert (still kissing her neck): "Well, I just didn't want you coming after me that's all. And I knew you'd do that.."
Anna (smiles): "I did anyway. And what you accompolish by putting me through hell, hmm?"
Robert (stares into her eyes): "Plenty. I missed you. Oh, did I miss this woman." (He kisses her) "I didn't think we'd be doing this again." (more kisses) "How much did you miss me?"
Anna (pauses and lookes thoughtfully at the ceiling): "I missed you a bit." (She laughs when she see his expression)
Robert: "A bit? All you can manage is a bit? On a scale of 1 to 10, I barely even make a decimal point..." (She starts kissing him while he tries to finish his sentence) "...Where's the outpouring of passion... trust... of love.... op... omp!" (He winces from a sharp joint of pain in his shoulder)
Anna: "Is that your shoulder?"
Robert (smiles down at her): "I'll manage." (She laughs as he kisses her again)
Scene fades out, then returns later where the two are under the covers, snuggled up and kissing.
Robert: "Hmm. Did I miss you." (He lets out a deep breath.)
Anna (smiling): "I didn't think I'd be in bed with you again." (She laughs)
Robert: "Never underestimate the power of a Scorpio in love."
Anna (surprised by his words): "Are you in love with me, really?"
Robert: "Um hm. Totally, uncontrollably, and irrevokably." (He kisses her hard.)
Anna: "Robert?"
Robert (busy kissing her shoulders): "What?"
Anna: "I mean, this place is nice and all, but we can't stay her forever. We do have to go back to Port Charles..."
Robert (interrupts her, not want to be distracted from his kissing): "Sure we can." (more kisses)
Anna: "... somehow."
Robert: "Okay." (more kisses)
Anna: "What is all this stuff about Paul Hornsby?"
Robert (staring hard at her): "Let me say this, I can tell you everything you need to know about Paul Hornsby in ten minutes or less, and that's in detail." (He leans closer) "Now, you're with a man who never thought he'd be with this particular woman ever again in his life. Paul who?" (He pulls under under him and starts kissing her again.)
Scene fades out, then returns back later to show them dressed in robes. Anna's sitting at the dresser when Robert lets Mac into the room.
Robert (to Mac as he lets him in): "So what do I owe this obnoxious intrustion?" (Anna looks over her shoulder at them while putting lotion on.)
Mac (noticing that Robert and Anna are in robes): "Did you enjoy your nap?"
Robert:
"As a matter of fact I did. It was quite relaxing."
Anna (to Mac): "Hello."
Mac: "Uh, don't you want to thank me?"
Anna: "What for?"
Mac (waving his arms about): "For these magnificent digs. I think I should at least get a finder's fee, aye?"
Robert: "Listen, who sent you out to find these digs, Moi!"
Mac (sitting down): "You know, Robbie, I think I could live here forever."
Robert (wanting to be alone with Anna, reaches down to pull Mac up): "I'm happy for you, but do it in your own room, will ya?"
Anna: "No, no, no." (To Mac) "I want to talk to you about Paul Hornsby. Please stay."
Mac (walking over to her): "Paul Hornsby? He's one big, fat rat."
Robert (also walks over to Anna): "Paul's probably the guy who sent Rory to dust us off."
Anna: "We (referring to her and Sean) questioned him."
Mac: "My shipmate. He's the one who placed the plastique and then sent the Tracy to the bottom of the harbor.
Robert: "And then very graciously rearranged my office (referring to the bomb blast that put him in the hospital)."
Anna (To Mac while pointing at Robert): "What would he want with taking him (Robert) out?"
Mac: "Probably to cover the sabatoge, you know. I mean, I was the only one who knew about it. Robbie was catching on to me."
Anna: "Why did he want to bring the ship down in the first place?"
Robert: "Well, if Hornsby wanted to take out the Quartermaines, I think this was all part of his plan. Now let's face it, he's started off in a great manner."
Mac: "Yeah, but there was one hitch in that plan. I killed Rory."
Anna: "And he set up the bank deposits in your names so it look like you (pointing at Robert) were living off your brother's blood money."
Mac (indigent): "Now wait a minute now, don't call it that, will you? I didn't kill anyone, except Rory."
Robert (smiling): "I'm glad to hear you haven't totally forsaken the family ethics."
Anna: "Whatever, anyway, Schultz (referring to the District Attorney) is on to it, and now Sean's investigating all the allegations against you two."
Robert: "I have to call him up to substantiate that. Tell me, is Robin still with Sean?"
Anna: "Yes, she is. You should talk to her when you get a chance."
Robert (to Robert): "And you can tell her it's okay to be friends with her uncle Mac."
Robert: "I gotta get back to Port Charles 100% exonerated."
Mac: "Now, wait a minute, what about me?"
Anna (getting up): "What about you, Mac? After what you put us through, you'll be lucky if you get off without a life sentence."
Robert: "Nuh, nuh, nuh, no. Let's not be unkind. He's made a few brownie points lately. Didn't kill me like I thought you would." (Mac grins) "Actually saved me miserable hide. And .... well, if you spill your guts, who knows, they might let you off with a light sentence of 3-4 years." (He grins devilishly at Mac and pats him on the back, laughing. Mac laughs too, unamused.)
Anna: "Robert, do you think we're right staying here? I mean, this is a beautiful place, but we really don't know the people who own it. And that girl (referring to Dominique) was awfully trusting."
Mac: "Anna, that's easy. I mean, she already told us she's a very good judge of character and besides there's nothing else we can do. One night's not gonna hurt, right?"
Robert: "I haven't seen any phones around, so I can only assume they can't call the police. I guess it's safe on the surface."
Anna (walks over to Robert and he slips his arm around her waist. To Mac): "Well, what do you think?"
Mac: "I think we should just enjoy ourselves tonight." (To Robert) "What do you think?"
Robert: "However, tomorrow, we're checking out of here. On the other hand, tonight let's see if we can overload on the hospitality." (Anna and Mac grin at him in agreement.)
Scene fades out, then returns back as Mac is letting Dom and Ms. Perry, the housekeeper, into Robert and Anna's bedroom. They are carrying bags of clothing and shoes.
Dom (in surprise to finding Mac in the room): "Oh, I didn't expect to see you here."
Mac: "Ah, we're just conferring on the status of the car. We'll have to take it to the garage in the morning."
Dom: "Oh, yes, tomorrow." (She enters the bedroom) "Anna, Robert, I brought you some dinner clothes, I hope you don't mind."
Anna (eyeing the bags): "Oh, my goodness. That's very thoughtful. Thank you." (Ms. Perry walks over and hands Robert some shoes and clothes.)
Robert (confused, his hands full of clothes): "Oh, are we all going out?"
Dom: "Oh no, we always dress for dinner here. It was a tradition my father started years ago, so." (She smiles)
Anna: "That's really nice. I didn't know people did that anymore. That's kinda cool."
Dom: "Yeah. Anyway, it's so much fun, would you mind?"
Anna: "No, no, no."
Mac: "Not at all. Do you have there one (referring to clothing bag) for me?"
Dom: "Well, of course, of course." (She puts her hand on his shoulder and stares shyly at him)
Anna: "Okay, well, I hope there's one that will fit me."
Dom: "Oh, well, there all sorts of sizes here. And I mean, some of them are a bit dated. Anyway, it's just for fun, so... Mac, if you want to freshen up, dinner will be served in the den at 9. Come one, I'll show you where your clothes are." (She and Ms. Perry start to leave the room)
Mac (calling to Dom): "Size 12, isn't it?" (To Robert) "Must be the dream we're talking about Robbie." (He smiles as he leaves the room.)
Anna (referring to Mac): "His feet aren't even touching the ground." (She starts unzipping the bags of clothes on the bed.)
Robert (walking over to her): "Hmm hmm."
Anna: "Oh, pretty dresses, my goodness."
Robert (standing behind her, he leans over her shoulder): "Maybe we're expected to provide the floor show."
Anna (again bothered about how easy things are going): "Don't you think this is very strange? I mean, there's this beautiful girl living in this enormous mansion, without any telephones, and then she invites us in?"
Robert (teasing): "Um. Maybe she wants a fourth for bridge."
Anna (smacking his arm): "Oh, c'mon Robert. I'm being serious. We have to get you out of here, past the sheriff, back to Port Charles."
Robert (grabbing the collar of her robe, pulls her to him): "Not tonight." (She smiles up at him) "Tonight I have somthing..." (he gives her a kiss) "... else in mind."
Anna (shaking her head in disbelief): "Is any of this real?"
Robert (takes her hand, slips another around her waist and leads her to the other side of the bed, which isn't cluttered with the clothes): "Well, if you say it like that. You remember a long, long time ago I threatened to take you on a nice little weekend? Well...." (he throws his arms about) "...here it is." (They sit down on the bed.)
Anna (amused by his explanation, plays along): "Oh, you arranged this." (He nods his head repeatedly, grinning)
Robert: "Well, I messed up with the canopy bed, but I didn't do so bad with the rest of it."
Anna: "Well, I think that's very romantic, Robert."
Robert: "Well, thank you."
Anna (trying to trip him up): "And you arranged for the young girl?"
Robert (thinking quickly): "Yeah, um, I'm renting her by the hour to keep me little brother busy."
Anna (smiles): "Well, you think of everything, don't you?"
Robert (slipping his hand around her waist as they fall back onto the bed): "No, unfortunately." (They laugh.)
