I'm missing a little bit of the episode at the beginning here, but I think Robin was earlier playing with Anna's wedding veil (from her marriage to Robert). |

Anna: "I don't want Robin to miss this trip for anything in the world. She is so excited." Filomena: "She loves her daddy so much." Anna: "I know." (She contines softly) "And Robert's looking foward to seeing her too." (She turns away, sad, the veil tight in her hands.) Filomena: "Anna?" Anna: "Hmm?" Filomena: "May I give you one last advice before I go off to bed?" Anna (realizing she's about to be lectured): "You're going to give it to me anyway." Filomena: "Yes." Anna: "Go ahead." Robin: "While we're away, please try to be a woman. I know you got a job, oh, but don't let the job keep you from remembering a woman needs a man in her life." (Anna walks away without saying anything, still clutching her veil.) The scene fades out, then returns
later. In her purple robe, Anna is sitting alone on the couch, the veil lying before her
on the coffee table. She picks it up, staring at it, then the "Vote for Duke"
sign on a side chair. She remembers their meeting, dancing, and their first kiss in a
series of flashbacks. Smiling, Anna gets up, still clutching her veil, and walks behind
the couch, then glances back at the sign. She jumps when Filomena calls to her from the
bedroom. Anna: "Um, yes?" Filomena: "What, what you are doing still up?" Anna (smiles to herself): "Um... nothing, I'm coming to bed shortly." (She rakes her hand through her hair, amused at Filomena's mothering, then walks over to a tall armoir and places her veil in a drawer.) The scene fades out, then
returns later. Unknowst to Anna and Felicia, Frisco is doing joining a poker game that
night that Duke has set up, knowing that Frisco has been snooping around the docks. Duke,
who's running for Union President of the Dock Worker's Union, can't afford to have Frisco
uncover his mob activities. The new cop is doing this on his own, without permission from
his superiors. Felicia's upset that he might be in danger at his "assignment"
and goes to blab to Anna. Anna lets her in and closes the door. Felicia (antsy): "Oh, I don't know. I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't have come here. It's late. You have to get up in the morning. Now that I'm here, I just feel so foolish for coming here." Anna: "Well, just tell me what you're worried about." Felicia: "The usual." Anna (smiling): "Frisco." Felicia: "Anna, look, I know I have to learn to be a good cop's wife, and I'm trying to go by the code, but it's just so difficult. And I have to stop worrying about him going on all these assignments, but... this is the first time he's gone on assignment at night time, and besides he didn't have on his uniform either." Anna (confused): "What are you talking about?" Felicia: "I just want to know, as a friend... could you just tell me if this assignment Frisco's on, is it dangerous?" Anna: "What assignment?" Felicia: "Frisco had this special assignment, he had this special meeting he had to go to, and he was so preoccupied all day that I just assumed it was very important." Anna: "I, I don't know anything about it." Felicia: "Oh, well maybe, mabye that... uh, well, if it was dangerous you'd know about it, wouldn't you?" Anna: "Well, did he say he was on assignment?" Felicia: "Well, not in so many words, but he did imply it." Anna (walking away): "Well, that's odd... I spoke to him earlier today. He didn't say anything about a meeting." Felicia: "You don't think he's doing anything on his own, do you?" Anna (reaches out to touch Felicia's hand to calm her down): "Oh, I don't know. He's probably not out on police work at all. It's probably some personal matter." Felicia: "I can't imagine what." Anna: "Well, let's not worry until we've found out what he's up to, all right?" Felicia: "Anna, I don't want Frisco to know I'm worrying about this. I promised him that I'd be the perfect cop's wife, and that means show no emotion." Anna: "Right." (Felicia turns and walks to the door to leave, Anna following her.) Felicia: "How many time have I gone and broken that rule?" The scene fades out, then
returns later. Anna is wide awake in bed, tossing about. There's a soft knock on her door. Robin (dressed in a blue nightgown, peeks in): "Mommy, were you asleep?" Anna (sits up, alarmed): "No darling, what is it? Are you sick?" Robin: "No, just wide awake." (Anna falls back on her pillow, relieved.) Anna: "Oh, I know the feeling." (She sits back up on her elbow. Robin closes the door and walks up to the edge of the bed.) Robin: "I couldn't get back to sleep no matter what I did. I must have counted a million sheep." Anna (teasing): "You wouldn't be the tiniest, wieniest bit excited about your trip tomorrow, would you?" Robin: "All I can think about is daddy and Holly and Australia and everything." Anna: "You're gonna have a wonderful time, you know." Robin (finally getting to why she came in): "Would it be okay if I sleep with you?" Anna: "Hmm?" Robin (giving her mum a sly look): "Maybe we could calm each other down?" Anna (smiles): "Maybe we could at that, yes. Climb in, come on." (She tosses the covers back and Robin climbs in next to her. Anna puts her arm around her daughter and they snuggle against one another.) "There's nothing more I'd like than to spend the next few hours with you." Robin: "Um, me too." Anna (kisses Robin's head, stoking her hair and face): "I love you." Robin: "I love you too." (Pause.) "What kind of things do girls do in Australia?" Anna: "Oh, I don't know, pretty much the same sort of things they do here I should think." Robin: "Do you think I'll get to go horseback riding?" Anna: "I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised." (Robin sits up excited, facing her.) Robin: "I can't wait, I'm so excited." (Anna laughs.) "I may never get back to sleep again tonight." Anna: "Oh, never mind. You can sleep on the plane." Robin: "I'll be even more excited on the plane." Anna (teasing): "You know, you might not get to sleep until you get back here to Port Charles." Robin (serious): "Boy, will I be tired." (Anna laughs.) Anna (patting the pillow): "C'mon, snuggle down." (Robin lays back down, snuggling again Anna.) Robin (quietly): "Will you miss me when I'm gone?" Anna: "Yes." (She lays her head against Robin's.) "I'll miss you every second you're away." Robin (softly): "I hate to make you sad." Anna: "I won't be sad. I'll be very happy knowing you're having a good time. Besides, I'll be very busy." Robin: "What will you do?" Anna: "Oh, I don't know. I... my job primarily." Robin: "You can't work all the time." Anna: "No. I suppose um... well I'll see friends, I'll go out to dinner." Robin: "Who with?" Anna: "I don't know. I really haven't planned my social calendar. I'll probably see your god-fathers." Robin: "How about Uncle Duke?" Anna: "Yes... I might see him too. Oh... speaking of which... (She kisses Robin's head.) "..he told me to give you that." Robin (sleepily): "I'll bet some of that kiss is for you too." (She falls asleep, leaning against Anna, who smiles surprised at Robin's perceptiveness.) |
