Soaps Best
Supercouples- Jason Robin (SOD 4/16/2002)
You'd be hard pressed to find
someone more stunned by these results than Kimberly McCullough, TV daughter of
fellow poll winner Finola Hughes. "I'm really surprised!" shares the
actress, who left GH, and her HIV-positive character, for greener pastures in
1998 after nearly 12 years there. "I would totally think that they
would pick Luke and Laura first, Frisco and Felicia second, Robert and Anna
third. And then I would think Robin and Stone, just because we were together
longer and it was a huge deal when we were together. But that's cool. I'm very
flattered."
As for what it is about Jason/Robin that appeals to fans, McCullough muses,
"I think it was more realistic and honest than most soap couples. Of
course, they were placed in these dramatic situations, but it wasn't really like
he was really taking care of her or she was taking care of him. It was more like
they challenged each other and they were on each other's level. There wasn't
this whirlwind of, like, he came and swept her off her feet and they rolled
around on the beach together. It was more practical, like, "Okay, I love
you. We're going to deal with this HIV thing and it's going to be okay."
McCullough has fond memories of the duo. "My favorite thing about that
relationship was that it was the type of love where you didn't have to verbalize
everything. If one of them had to think, they'd go to the bridge and they'd
always end up seeing each other there. They allowed each other space, but also
were there for each other."
But don't look for McCullough to cross that bridge again anytime soon. "I
love working with Steve Burton, but this time, I don't have any plans to come
back," relates the actress, who has kept busy since leaving GH with film
work and primetime guest spots, including some upcoming ones on The Shield.
"I still keep in touch with Maurice [Benard, Sonny] and Amber [Tamblyn,
ex-Emily]," she smiles. "And I go [to the studio] all the time just to
pop in. So, I don't feel out of touch at all."

Felicia's undeniable attraction to Luke, this marriage well could be doomed."

Felicia to become a real couple: "51%
