Bottoms
Up! All work and no play makes Mac Scorpio one dull police
commissioner. But in checking out that handsome face and fine physique of his,
there's plenty of potential to score more than an arrest or two! Isn't it about
time he got a little, as they say, "action"? If so, John J. York
(Mac) is ready, willing and oh-so able! "I'm a guy! Guys love it!" he
jokes about doing a sexy love scene with a comely leading lady. "I'm not
uncomfortable at all. I don't know how uncomfortable I'd be doing a nude scene.
We all have bodies. I've never been asked, so I don't know enough to worry about
it." What if he was asked to flash a little flesh to nab a potentially
high-profile feature film? "I've got the butt for it!" York laughs.
"Yeah. I've got the round, white butt... or so I've been told." (SID

Wagner
Out as York Inks Deal! Calling
the move "mutual" and "amicable," a GH rep confirms
that Wagner, after nearly 19 years of playing Aztec
princess-turned-private eye Felicia, has opted to leave GH. She last
aired February 13. When Wagner made her debut in 1984- her first
scene had Felicia trying to steal from Frisco (played by future hubby
Jack Wagner) an heirloom ring belonging to her ancestor- she was cast as
half of what was to become one of GH's most popular couples ever.
Setsiders scoff at talk that Felicia will be recast any time soon;
rather SID hears the character will travel out of town, leaving ex-hubby
Mac to watch her daughters, Maxie and Georgie.
As such, John J. York has inked a new deal with GH, reversing ABC's
decision last year to reduce him to day player status. "I'm just
thrilled," he tells SID. As for what storyline (aside from
adventures in babysitting) awaits him, York says, "I like being
surprised. [But] there are a lot of things that could happen. Mac
has a lot of history." (SID

Cast
Shake-ups at GH Hot
on the heels of the news that GH's Kristina Wagner has exited the role
of Felicia comes world that her former on-screen partner, John J. York,
is back on contract. York, who was bumped to recurring in December,
2001, was reportedly returned to his original position largely because
of Wagner's departure. With a big summer story planned for Felicia's
daughters, their ex-stepdad, Mac, will be stepping in to be a visible
parental figure.
According to a message posted on his Web site, www.johnjyork.com,
the actor couldn't be more excited. "I am so grateful to Brian
[Frons, ABC Daytime president] and Jill [Farren Phelps, executive
producer] for their generous spirit and for the opportunity to once
again contribute on a show that has the best writers and the most
talented actors around," he enthused. "I am anxiously awaiting
the upcoming scripts, because, like you, I don't know what is going to
happen and I can't wait to find out." (SOD 3/25/03) GH's
York to PC? GH
has such a big, busy cast, it's no surprise that there's been lots of
buzz about what to do with its talented, though back-burnered, overspill
of actors- such as John J. York and Brad Maule. Rumor has it that one or
both may head over to GH's sister show, PC- and York, for one, says he
wouldn't mind.
After
all, Mac's best friend, Kevin, is undergoing a bit of a struggle:
"Ryan comes back, so to speak," explains York. "You'd
think that [Kevin would] call Mac and want help! I wish there would be a
spot for Mac." The
actor reveals that he has even asked to be sent over, but notes, "I
think because it's on such a different schedule [from GH], it's
hard."
Still,
he says that PC and GH do share a universe (although PC's is more
supernatural), and he wouldn't mind more crossover opportunities:
"There are so many things that happen right next door that we don't
refer to or make sense of." But, York concedes, synchronizing story
must be a challenge. "They're really trying to make PC its own
separate entity, and the show's doing a great job with that." (SOD

Okay, so the music to
the new GH opening stinks, but at least Mac FINALLY got a new
picture!
Scorpio
Reunion! Was
October 8 a treat for you AMC and GH fans? We bet it
was. After all, it's not every day that a Port Charles resident comes to the
town of Pine Valley. We're talking about Mac Scorpio visiting sister-in-law Anna
Devane, of course! Well, if you missed that episode, or want to know more about
what transpired behind-the-scenes at our exclusive photo shoot with John J. York
(Mac) and Finola Hughes (Anna), then just click the "Next" button. Soaps
In Depth will give you the scoop!
"I
love the fact that, when we cut a scene, 15 people go to the actress!"
joked York, who waited patiently when Hughes got her hair and make-up touched
up.
The
reunited co-stars joked around for the camera as if no time had passed since
their GH days. "It's cool. [John said] 'It's just like when we worked
together in '91.' That was my last year on the show," Hughes said.
Both
actors had a busy schedule following our photo shoot. York, who had flown into
NYC from California for his stint on AMC, planned on attending the U.S. Open the
next day. Hughes, on the other hand, discussed what she was wearing to that
night's MTV Video Music Awards: black Alexander McQueen pants with a Gucci
flowered halter top. (2001)
